I just purchased this vehicle from a private owner for $1800 for my teenage daughter. He stated that it would pass inspection. I drove it the 38 miles to my home; it was not the smoothest ride. My mechanic quoted $2700 in repairs to pass MD state inspection! I cannot put any more money into this car. I just want to start saving again in order to buy my new driver a car that I can put on the road. Vehicle has a clean PA title, signed by the owner, not transferred (that would cost me another $300); otherwise I would have donated it for the tax deduction. Cosmetically, the car looks pretty good, inside & out. If money is not an issue, and you like Volkswagen, you could put it on the road; otherwise, it would be great for parts. I can get the list of needed repairs to pass inspection if requested. Buyer is responsible for vehicle pick-up or shipping.
