The car has been stored inside a climate controlled building during the winter in Michigan and inside my garage during the summer. The car has undergone a one – time extensive frame on restoration (frame off not needed since is a California car) and has been garaged and driven only 11,800 miles since. This car is equipped with power steering, power disc brakes on all four wheels, close ratio M21 four (4) speed manual transmission, LaMans blue exterior and bright blue interior, positraction rear axle, 8 position IDIDIT tilt steering column, leather seats, head rests, corvette AM /FM radio with cassette player. I have the California Black Plate that was on the car when I purchased it and will be included. It’s not a numbers matching car but is an investment that you can drive and enjoy. I have a clean title in hand. Paint and Chrome: The show quality finish you see in the photos is the result of a professional paint job that the last owner told me cost about $12,000. Before the restoration, everything was removed from the body of the car and all the paint was stripped down to the bare fiberglass. The entire body was gel coated and then received several coats of primer and painstakingly block sanded by hand until laser straight before being painted and clear coated in its original LaMans Blue color. The entire car was sanded between each coat. The result is a glossy and magnificent – laser straight mirror finish with no orange peel, egg shell, or fish-eye anywhere to be found. Even after 11,800 miles the paint finish is still superb with only a few minor nicks and hair line stress cracks near the tight radiuses around the hood opening. The paint finish is still outstanding and is the first thing people comment about. Gaps between the panels are all even throughout. The bumpers have also been re-chromed and are flawless, with no spots, pits or scratches. The car has been hand washed and detailed while I have had the car and I’m sure the original owners must have done the same thing by great condition of the exterior. Interior and soft top: New leather seats were installed last summer in the factory correct style and Bright Blue color code 414, and the in the correct fit and finish that this car was intended to have. The soft top is only a few years old and is very good shape, expertly redone in the original white color with only minor scuffing on the rear window. The carpets are in good shape but were next on my list to be replaced. The Stingray floor mats are new and original interior color. Mechanics: During the restoration, the original 327 motor was removed and replaced with a higher horsepower 350 cid V8 corvette crate motor from Chevrolet. The motor is not only more powerful but also more reliable, more efficient than the original and runs on unleaded gas which is a real plus. The motor always starts on the first crank and runs very reliably. During the restoration the close ratio 4 speed manual transmission was rebuilt, the carburetor rebuilt, the radiator re-cored, all hoses replaced, rebuilt power steering and brake boosters, all electrical wires replaced, suspension and brakes replaced with new, all new bushings and a new factory correct exhaust system was also installed. All of the gauges work and even the clock still works! I recently replaced the set of spark plug wires, widow guides were replaced and rebuilt, a new heater core and coolant expansion tank was installed, shifter adjusted, power steering control valve replaced, thermostat and fan clutch replaced. Hood and rear deck lid linkages have many new parts and work very well. Tail lights and back up light lenses are clear and like new. Driving quality: With new shocks, this car rides as smooth as it did when it was new. The power steering is smooth and quiet and so are the power disc brakes. The alignment is nice and straight. A set of four new white letter BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires where just mounted and have less the 100 miles on them. Vacuum system: All the vacuum components on this car were rebuilt and adjusted to work flawlessly including the headlights and windshield wipers. Security System: For peace of mind during those weekend cruises, this car is equipped with a top of the line Viper 5901 2 way alarm with an immobilizer system. The system will notify you on the key FOB whenever the car is tampered with within a 1 mile radius and will even tell you what sensor was triggered. This system is completely seamless and cannot be seen, keeping the car looking stock. I personally don’t need to use this system and have disabled it by pulling the fuses since the slight current draw was draining the battery while the car is in storage during the winter months but it an easily be turned back on. Other: Being an original Southern California car there is absolutely no rust anywhere underneath and was never undercoated! The frame is totally solid without rust inside or outside. The car comes with the “California Black Plate” and original owner’s manual. This is not a numbers matching car but looks great and is a wonderful driver which will give you many years of enjoyment. There was no smog control equipment on the 1968 C3 Vette's. The car is equipped with the standard corvette dual exhaust system which has a deep sounding exhaust note during idle and when the four barrels are opened up! Some days I like to go out in the garage with a cold beer and just enjoy the sound and looks of my C3. The car was on my "bucket list" since I owned a new one back in my younger days from 1969 - 1971 and had to sell my C3 to but my first house. This C3 has given me many hours of enjoyment but I need to sell her to help my Son pay for his last year of college tuition.
