Vehicle Detail
This is a BMW 2002 from 1976. It had the dealer modification for the Tii designation (as you see in the photos), it is not an original Tii, BMW stopped producing them after 1975. The mod included the engine and transmission (upgraded to 5 speed), the brakes and suspension are 2002 original spec. This car is in excellent shape. I am the second owner, the first was in San Diego and I understand the original owner kept it garaged for 15 years before I bought it 10 years ago. Under my ownership it has also been garaged most of the time. I redid the seats in leather and they are renovated per original spec (stuff with the original type of material which is not foam). The original Blaupunkt stereo comes with the car, though an aftermarket stereo was installed, can easily be replaced with the original. The AC works, but the fan belt came off, I have all the parts for putting the new fan belt on, I just haven't had time to do it. Those parts (worth $300) come with the car as well. An anti-theft ignition system was installed by the previous owner (the red box you see in the trunk above the battery). The rest should be evident in the photos - it's all there, but if you want pics of some specific aspect, let me know, I can try to do that for you. This car is in great shape, you won't find many of these left with no rust and in this good condition, it's ready to drive. I am now based overseas (why I'm selling it) so the registration is not current, but I can apply for the temporary permit if you want to drive it off the lot when you pick it up. I'm not familiar with how to arrange for shipping the car to somewhere else, so if you're not coming to pick it up, will need your help on that. Serious buyers only, if you don't know anything about BMW 2002s then don't bid, this car should only go to bidders who understand and appreciate the engineering and beauty of the 2002. The first time I listed this car, the winning bidder had no clue what he was doing, changed his mind after winning and used eBay buyer protection as his cover. The rest of you who know what this car is will appreciate what I'm offering here.
