Vehicle Detail

-This collector car was bought in the US in the 1960's by a person in the military. When he was stationed in Panama, he took the car with him. While down in Panama, he traveled to native villages in his spare time, eventually meeting an Indian chief who wanted to make a trade with him for the car. The Indian and soldier agreed to a small bag of river gold as a trade, and the chief took ownership. - The chief drove the car in special tribal ceremonies until it stopped running. From what we could tell and what he said, the battery must have died and he didn't have any way to start it. We ran across it 23 years later, sitting where it has last stopped, with a shed built around it to protect it from the elements. - After purchasing the car in the 1990's and putting a fresh coat of paint on it, the Impala sat for a few more decades in a garage because neither my father nor I had the time to spend on the car as a project. - We started disassembling the Impala by taking off all of the chrome and aluminum trim. A few years ago, we had the opportunity to move it up here to the US, so we brought it up. Since arriving here we have reconditioned the engine so it runs fine, we've replaced the gas tank, hoses, pumps, and tires. - It's pretty much in the perfect state for someone to pick up on the restoration of this all-original 1964 Impala SS. Over the years, there are some trim parts missing. These can be easily replaced, but it's important for any potential buyers to assess what is there and what is missing. These are items like a hubcap, and emblem an/or door handles. - The title is still a Panama title. All the documentation is there, but I did not go through the process of converting back to a US title. I am not sure what needs to be done, but that is for the new owner to figure out. We have the import documents and the registration papers from the country of Panama.
