Enjoy the 2015 riding season on this exceptionally maintained 2009 BMW R1200RT sport touring machine! This bike is what BMW motorcycles are known for. Combining classic horizontally-opposed, air/oil cooled Boxer power with all the modern safety and convenience features you would expect from BMW. I am the original owner. The bike was purchased brand new on December 2, 2009 and it is one of the last RTs with German controls (before BMW switched to Japanese-style controls). The bike has a clean, lien free title and has always been garaged in a dry, climate controlled garage in a non-smoking house. The bike has never been dropped and never been involved in an accident. I am very meticulous about washing, waxing and general upkeep. As noted above, there are a few tiny paint chips from road debris and I can point out each one. They are not noticeable and do not detract from the appearance of the bike. The bike was both dealer and owner maintained. The last service was performed at 18k miles in accordance to all factory specifications. At that time, I switched from conventional motor oil to full synthetic motor oil. I also replaced the tires with a new set of Michelin Pilot Road 3s, both front and rear. The 2009 RTs were known to have some trouble with their fuel tank strips. This bike has its original fuel strip and it has always worked and been very accurate. Also, there is always some discussion regarding BMW final drives. While nothing is guaranteed, the final drive on this bike is solid (no side-to-side movement), has never leaked FD fluid and has never gotten hot even after a full day of riding. This R1200RT has a lot of factory extras, such as ABS (non-servo), cruise control, electronically adjustable windshield, heated grips, heated seat (rider and pillion), Electronic Suspension Adjustment (ESA), on board computer, two 12 volt power sockets, clear turn signal lenses and polished chromed exhaust system. The bike does NOT have the audio package. There are two color matched side cases and a black 28L BMW top case. The side cases are keyed like the ignition and the top case has a separate key but a dealership could easily match all three locks. I have also added a lot of high quality extras that only boost the bike’s value and long distance comfort. The bike is located in the Hudson Valley region of New York, about 50 miles north of New York City. The buyer will either need to arrange for a trailer pick-up or ride it home (with valid registration and insurance).
