Vehicle Detail

This is one nice original, drivable truck. It has been kept inside a garage in South Texas most of its life. It's a 1959 Ford F-100 Short bed style side ,1/2 ton . Factory equipped with a 292 V8 and 3 speed on the column. Engine runs, shifts like it should, but smokes. Will need refreshing. It's got new brakes front to back with new brake, clutch and master cylinders. The wheels have been powder coated recently white. The gas tank is new with sending unit. New Carburetor with fuel pump and filter. The body is in very fair shape with no dents that I can see. The glass will need to be replaced. It is cracked or has BB holes on every one, but is intact. The upholstery is really nice and in place. Original bumpers are in good shape front and rear. Grille is perfect with no dents. The doors shut and close really nice and don't drop when you open them. This truck needs only the glass replaced, engine rebuild or upgrade and it will make a great driver. I did see a few little spots of bubbling on the driver cab corner, front right fender and on inside steps, but very small and manageable. Cool truck! This one will make a great builder. Truck is for sale locally and there is a lot of interest. If it sells, auction will end. If you'd like to make an offer, please send me a note. Otherwise, good luck and happy bidding! The third-generation Ford F-Series were trucks produced by Ford Motor Company from 1957 to 1960. Following its competitors at Dodge and General Motors, Ford widened the front bodywork to integrate the cab and front fenders together. Going a step further, the F-Series integrated the hood into the bodywork with a clamshell design;[1] the feature would stay part of the F-Series for two decades. Although offered previously, the optional chrome grille was far more prominent than before. In the rear, two types of pickup boxes were offered, starting a new naming convention: the traditional separate-fender box was dubbed FlareSide, while StyleSide boxes integrated the pickup bed, cab, and front fenders together. As before, Ford still offered a "Low GVWR" version of each model. In May 1957 Ford discontinued building trucks at the Highland Park Ford Plant in Highland Park, Michigan. All light and medium trucks were transferred to 10 other plants in the USA. Heavy-duty trucks (above F-350) were transferred to Kentucky Truck Assembly in Louisville, Kentucky. Third generation trucks were built in Brazil as the F-100, F-350 & F-600 from 1962 until 1971. OHV sixes and V8s were the same ones as used in Ford cars of the era.
