Vehicle Detail

70 Porsche 911 that I tried to buy years ago, when owner drove it into his barn and let it sit. Owner recently contacted me to sell. I purchased with motor now stuck from sitting. Solid body with minimal rust for year, no rust through, appears to all be surface rust. Solid floors, shock towers, a-pillars, and rockers. Interior is average, seats don't appear to match door panels. Don't know if that is significant just a note. Appears to have wrong body panel on rear, don't know if that was a repair or someone attempting to upgrade appearance. There are original parts in trunk, not sure how much. Just selling as is, need the money more than another project. This is a very decent original style body, with no fender mods. Solid hardtop no aftermarket attempts for a sunroof. Plane Jane wheels and dog dish hubcaps, which aren't common anymore. Car is a manual transmission. See pics and compare to others to see how solid for an un-restored Porsche. See payment details. Car must be picked up within 30 days.On Mar-22-15 at 08:12:43 PDT, seller added the following information: Additional information: engine number 6202397 with 911/01 on separate flat below that.larger number is supposed to be the engine number and 911 number gives specifics to this particular engine. I don't know what they are. Doing this on my phone and not on a computer to look it up.On Mar-24-15 at 14:06:16 PDT, seller added the following information: More about this car.It sat inside from 89 until about July of 13. So has only been outside about 20 months. The tires are dry rotted and flat is why it is so low. I will try to get some pics yet this week. If nothing else sat morning before the auction expires. I have the front carpets up and floors still appear solid. Seats are better than they appear in pics. There is some old white plastic wrap that got brittle and fell all apart and looks like crap. Thats the same stuff in the engine compartment. There is a new headliner if mice haven't been in there. Will check that too. This car will sell. I certainly hope it brings more, it should. But it met the reserve, I won't pull it now.On Mar-27-15 at 17:33:54 PDT, seller added the following information: This is a numbers matching car with the original engine (though stuck). Thank goodness for the internet and a base of knowledgable Porsche enthusiasts. My nephew will post pics for me. Jacked the car up and checked floor pans and wheelwells. Rock solid. Took a close up of hood, deck lid, and left fender behind wheel, where people were concerned by the previous pics. You can see all these are solid too. There is a small rusted out place on the right front fender just in front of the wheel above the bumper. The car came into the states via San Antonio, Texas. That should explain the washed out paint and rusty patina. It then moved to Arkansas before arriving in Indiana. Vin# 911 020 1235 engine# 6202397 paint 1818 Albertblue interior 13 black with pepita inserts Dealer code UH means it came via San Antonio Options 490 and 568, antenna and tinted windows. Thanks to Jesse for this info. This car was ordered as a Porsche to be driven and enjoyed as they were meant to be. Not heavily optioned to try to become a luxury touring car. I have been told the wheels are wrong but as fat as I know they were never changed. I found one source that said 70 was the start of using Fuchs wheels on all cars. But it did not say if that was with the start of the model year or came about later in the production run. I feel they belong. You decide. I had a bidder that had to bow out because bids exceeded his means that would like to purchase these wheels. I will give the winning bidder his contact information. The seats are all in very good condition. Sorry I didn't clean the junk out of it before posting so you could see it, but weather just hasn't been condusive to it.
