1985 VOLKSWAGEN VANAGON GL, seven passenger, in very good daily driver condition. VIN # WV2YB0258FH122400. Nice example of an original Vanagon that is not perfect but a very nice van that is fun to drive. Mileage is 193601. Interior: Shows signs of wear but in very nice condition. Seat are very with no tears or rips. Fabric is in almost new condition and comfortable to sit on. Seats fold forward and have arms rest that go up for more elbow room for passengers and ease of getting in and out. Carpet is average, clean and with no holes or major stains. Headliner is very nice and also with no holes or tears. Exterior: Paint is in “fair“ condition with some clear coat areas going away and has a spotty look (you need to judge for yourself). Close inspection will show a few dents, around rear wheel arches and front passenger wheel arch. Windshield has a small crack in lower left side (approximately 6” to 8”). Engine: Starts right up and idles smooth. Clutch depresses smooth and also with no noise or slipping. 4 speed transmission shifts smooth and quite. May need a catalytic converter. It had a small water leak but I replaced a hose and believe it's fixed. Haven't had time to test it. Van is currently on non-op and has been sitting for quite a while. Mechanical: This car seems to be in good sound, rust free condition. Inspection of the underside shows normal condition for a car of this age. No rust or any signs of damage. Suspension appears to be in good condition and everything is fairly clean (for the underside of a car). Brand new battery and two brand new tires and two tires in “ok” condition. New shiny chrome VW hub caps make the wheels look very nice. Overview: I tried my best to show all aspects of this car to help anyone interested in making a decision. You need to see it for yourself in order to; 1: Appreciate how nice it is. 2: Decide if, in your eyes, this is the car for you. Different people have differing opinions. Please inspect photos carefully as they are part of the description. Drives quite and has a very plush ride. Original owners manual. Seats seven comfortable. Clean title in hand. I'm helping someone else sell this so I don't know the complete history of it and am unable to test on the open road. Very low starting bid and no reserve.
