A 1965 356C coupe in conversion to a 356 outlaw. Same owner for 41 years. Driven as a daily driver for many years and then taken apart approximately 25 years ago to remake as a mild outlaw. Although it could be converted back to original this car would be a fantastic start for someone already thinking of an outlaw. Since outlaws are usually very personal projects, it would be easy to shift the direction if someone desired. I can trade an original decklid for the louvered one, and I can trade a pair of GT sport seats for the seats if that is the direction the new owner would like to go. It is a solid car (it has always been garaged), and all the parts are there (except the bumpers). Most of any required metal work has already been completed. Panel fit and gaps already look very good. It was auto-crossed in the early 80’s and has a roll bar, camber compensator, and boxed trailing arms. The car has been apart in a garage for the past 25 years. The original engine is no longer with the car however a fresh professionally rebuilt replacement engine is now installed. It was just put back in the car and the brakes serviced specifically with the purpose of providing a prospective buyer the opportunity to test the engine and drive the car for transport. The engine is a non-matching 356 motor built, balanced, and blueprinted by a premier local machine shop to stock specifications using new Mahle pistons. A good solid C car is getting difficult to find, and for someone who thought it was just too expensive to find a car to make an outlaw here is your chance.
