indigo ribbon special im a mercedes man.... so i rode the bus... rode my bike ....saved my pennies for three years to get another mercedes.... rode the bus to the dealer for the car i had searched for... i was gonna drive it home.... i was told i couldnt even test drive the car.... i was so mad, i went down the block to the bmw dealer and paid cash for this 2002 525i... it had the infamous seat twist, but i adjusted it to my satisfaction....it was a great car for a couple of years.... until the alternator went out...... i could have done it myself but, being lazy...... i went to Jammies, Florence and Jerk's to get a new alternator installed.... 4 hours later........... the car no longer retained my settings, none of the interior lights worked, the ac/heater blower quit, the dsc didnt work, the right rear window didn't work. the angel-eye on the left side was broken, the alarm worked sporadically, and almost every "idiot light" was on...... on top of that..... i found plastic body/panel tools in the car with initials carved into them..... maybe they stole my airbags.... i dont know.... a year later, a big truck backed into my left front steering tire, denting my door and my left front fender... and then he took off like a rocket... the real damage was to the LF wheel.....the wheel now shakes like jiffy pop at 40mph..... the electric windows are all getting power but dont move ... sunroof works as well as the lr window. right pass window is off track. recently, my thermostat went on a tear and quit working. i thought this was the opportune time to have that fancy water pump installed as well.... Being a certified indigo ribbon holder; i hired the mechanic from hell, he put two holes in my radiator..... broke the fan shroud.... and the tools in my trunk seem to have absconded all at the same time..... now an oil leak has sprung up on the right side exhaust area where it creates the most smoke... i cant drive it or even stand next to it without being highly embarrassed.... my ignorance is your merriment.... i want nothing to do with this car......but the stereo is fine... vehicle is..... AS-IS/WHERE-IS.......... come and get it..... fix that oil smoke and the front wobble and this thing runs great. 140,000 miles, it would do 120mph if not for the Left front wheel problem..... runs great after warm up even with all the idiot lights on... water evaorates as steam from the two cracks in the plastic areas shown. i drive it 10-15 miles every few days to keep it drivable. needs brake shoes... your chance for a nice car dirt cheap.
