Vehicle Detail
Hi thanks for looking. Selling for a friend a 1963 Galaxy 500 2 door hardtop boxtop. A real Z code car with the rare 390 V8 Thunderbird engine and Automatic tranny. Most of these cars had a small block or the 352 V8. He started taking car appart for restoration ( TRIM and WINDSHIELDS ) 15 yrs. ago and never got to finish it. The car has 51,300 ORIGINAL MILES, He is the 3rd. owner. He has the Original Owners Book with VIN# Stamped in it. The car sat under a Tarp in Carport for 15 yrs. and has not been started for 10 yrs. Now due to Medical issues he needs to sell car to cover Co-Pays on his bills. We Towed Car to my home where I have a shop in back to work on my own toys. He left it up to me to AWAKEN the car up. First thing I changed all oils, (Tranny and Engine ), Removed Carb. and cleaned it., Took Valve covers off to inspect Valves for movement, I was amazed how well taken care the engine was. It was Clean, I even took a picture. I pulled spark plugs , claened and re- gapped them. I hooked a Fuel line to a gallon Jug and primed the Carb. and the car started right up!! Again I was amazed it ran and idled smooth with no noises or smoke in engine. It has a exhaust leak in a manifold gasket but thats it. I pulled the wheels off to check brakes and seen all new shoes and cylinders. My friend told me he had all new brakes installed before disasembling the car. I took it for a ride arround block and it shifted good and stoped good for drum brakes.I stomped the gas and the tires spun out, Amazing for a 52 yr. old car. NOW AS FOR THE CAR-- It needs rust repair on both lower sides (doors and quarters ) a couple of floor pans, and a complete interior kit. Frame, suspension, and Exhaust good. Windshield and side glass original and perfect. Rear windshield, rear lower 1/4 drivers trim and passenger front fender trim got damaged due to Hurricane Wilma. I contacted Stan the Ford Man in Washington and he has the rear glass and trim (Perfect ) and total cost with shipping will be $300.00 I posted a copy of his card on price guide sheet. His # is--360-6871216. I checked the price guide book and this car in cat. #4 with the 390 V8 Option is calling for $4800.00 All trim and extras are in the trunk. The car also needs a new gas tank- EBAY ITEM #351209730400 for $259.00 with sending unit. This car is Very restorable and RARE with this Z CODE ENGINE. I have restored worse. I would hate to see it go for a parts car. I have listed the car at a fare price allowing for missing items. Feel free to email me, or call me direct here in Florida with any questions 954-2401276. I have 100% feedback and I have described the car as I see it . My name is Joe and thanks for looking. Thanks for your offers--- but please be alittle more serious about it. My Buddy may be dying of Cancer I'm trying to belp him out, If your a business use it as a tax deductable donation to a good cause. Thanks Again for all your viewing, have a blessed day, This car had one re-paint in early 80's, Body is arrow straight.--Fix lower rust and paint--$2500.00,--Interior kit-$1600.00,--$600.00,-re-chrome bumpers, the rest is Misc. This is a good car to restore.
