Vehicle Detail
1973 Chevrolet Nova SS - REAL Thanks for checking out my 1973 Nova SS. This is a great car out of the Northwest, Beautiful Floor pans, no undercoating, extremely hard to find a REAL 73 SS, only way to prove one is by Original Documentation, which this car has 2 factory build Sheets, Z26 SS Equipment Package, ZR8 SS/Rallye White Decals, G80 Posi, L65 Original 350 V8. This will make someone one a great driver, restore as you go, very good project. This is the real deal, factory Super Sport, most people when they see this car ask, did someone put the SS badges on it, when I show them the build sheet their jaw drops. Most don't realize that this was a factory option for the Nova in 1973. Like many Chevrolet's in this time period, Camaros, Chevelles, hard to tell what you have, unless you have Documention, there is no way to prove the SS option or engine options etc, all you new is that it was a 6 cylinder or V8. I have 2 factory Build Sheets, that show the Z26 SS Equipment Package with ZR8 Side Rallye White Decals, and the 350 V8 Option. This car is a true find, numbers matching engine VIN stamped on the original 350 V8. This car has some nice options, AC, Disc Brakes, Vinyl Top, Rallye wheels. This car was bought new at Camp Chevrolet in Spokane, Washington. The lady that owned it from new, had it up until 1999. She had a dealer friend sell the car for her in 1999. Back then we did not have the wonders of the internet, so it was put of for sale in the local trader, remember those days!!!! At that time, it was known to have 44K Original miles on it, she had it repainted a couple times, it sat outside many years. It then was purchased by a student and his father. He used this car as his daily driver in High School. After 16 years of ownership, he had always hoped to restore the car back to its former glory. He got married, new family, time just got in the way, not a bad thing, but raising a family is way more important then a car. He had hoped to restore it, but realized it was time to pass the torch, he said that the miles of 79,401 are correct, he bought it with the 44K, and never turned it over. The car when you drive it does feel good, and does not fell worn out, but it was not garaged, and was used, don't want anyone to get the ideal that they are buying a show car. I don't have any written documentation on miles, I do have the add from 1999, and the information from 2nd owner, the brake pedal and gas pedal are original and not worn out, original SS steering wheel, is in good shape, the car does not have the wear of a 179K on components. This car is not a trailer queen, it is a daily driver project car it is 42 years old, it looks good from the distance, but you will notice it has plenty of dings, paint flaws and scratches on the car. It is a good looking car, and you can enjoy it everyday, and you will take it to the local cruise in and enjoy yourself no problem. Very hard to find a Documented Nova Super Sport of this vintage. I have followed these cars for many years, and have always steered away, because no one had Real Super Sport Documentation. There are so many clones around, to find one like this car is amazing. Check out the pictures, I show the Matching engine numbers, the build sheets. I have been selling classic cars here on eBay since 2003, 12 years now, with around 500 classic cars sold over the internet, with 100% Feedback. What I love about these old cars, is that I get to own some of my favorite cars one at a time, I have turned this passion into a business, but for me it is an awesome time to enjoy the cars and trucks themselves. It has been such a joy to do business with people all over the world. I have sold multiple cars to many buyers all over from Europe, Dubai, Australia, Japan, Brazil, just to name a few. It has always been a pleasure, getting to know other car enthusiast all over the Continent, especially some that have become very good friends of mine because of our love for cars. I look forward to doing business here on ebay for many years to come, and look forward to meeting some other like minded classic car nuts like myself. If you would like to call me and talk about the car, that would be great, would love to help you out, if you want to call and talk about cars, it would be my pleasure, I am on the hunt for any Interesting classics, please give me a call, 503-910-2085 - Jason. CONDITION: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE The body on this car is in good shape, it has been repainted at least 2 times in its life time. The door jams, under the trunk lid, and hood are original paint. It has had some spot painted here and there on the car, you can see it in the photos, but overall a very solid car in general. Some of the clear coat is coming off on the hood and truck lid, see photos. It does have a lot of door dings, especially on the passenger side. The 2nd owner had kids, and the Nova was parked in the garage, and sometimes the family car next to it, doors would accidently ding the Nova. The car has plenty of small chips, and scratches, some have been touched up, some not. The body is sound, and feels very solid. Some of the panels do not fit perfectly like the fenders they need a little aligning, the front bumper has a little bit of a tweak to it. There are a few rust spots, at the bottom of each fender in the bottom corners. The quarter panels look in good shape, no rusty issues that I have noticed. The wheel lips look very good around the arches, no bubbles. The vinyl top is in very nice condition, no tears, no bubbles underneath. The car is in good shape, but has been used, but it will need a very good restoration at some point to bring it back to life. Look at the photos closely, give me a call if you have questions, it is not a show car, it has many blemishes and such, but overall a very good driver for someone, that can drive it and restore when time allows. Underneath this car is amazing, any classic car would die to have a car this clean underneath. Here in the Northwest we have very clean original cars, this car has no undercoating underneath it, we don't salt the roads, it is very amazing, look at the photos all I can say. The engine is the Original L65 350 V8. Amazing after 44 years, the engine compartment is basically untouched. The engine starts right up, it does not burn or blow any oil currently, very smooth running little Nova. No signs of any major oil leaks. I know the gentleman that we got the car from, in the past had replaced the valve cover gaskets, and intake manifold gasket, and at the same time repainted them Chevy Orange, that is the only major thing done under the hood that I can see. This is a 350 V8, factory 2V, putting on a 4V intake would give it a little more grunt, these cars were built to do a lot of highway driving, but honestly if you do change it over, which would be easy to do, put the original intake and carb on the shelf and keep it for the next owner. The transmission shifts nice and smooth, no noises, no clunks, shifts good. This car came originally with the G80 Option, Factory Posi, which is pretty cool for a car like this. The brakes seem to be in good shape, the stop the car nicely, factory Disc upfront and drums in the rear. It has Correct 1973 Rallye Wheels on it, which look very nice on the car, decent caps, and trim rings. The tires, are in decent shape, they are all the same size, but 2 different brands, overall they are in good condition and will last a few years until you decide to upgrade. It has Dual exhaust on it, which seems to be in good shape. Not sure if this car came with single or dual from the factory, I believe dual since it is a Super Sport. The suspension feels good, has a good stance, but from being 44 years old it is worn some just from age. Mechanically the car seems to be in pretty good shape. It does have factory Air Conditioning, it is all hooked up, and clutch looks to be free on AC pump. When you try to turn it on, nothing happens, we think that the blower motor for the AC and Heater is not working, and has to be repaired. I have not looked into that to close, so currently AC and heater controls are not working. The lights are working on the car, but having issues with one brake light, and only one back up light is currently working. Will try to look at them closer, but can't promise I can get them working. Interior is original, what one would call a survivor interior. The dash has some cracks in it, you can not really see them, they had put some vinyl over the dash pad, to cover it to make it look nicer, but you can see some areas were there is most likely cracks. Easy to replace if you want to get a new one for it. The headliner has no rips, but has shrunk a little, and is sagging. It is actually could be saved, take it out, and reattach it to the backing, and have it stretched, I believe it could be worked with actually. The seats are original, never recovered, the drivers seat as you can see is worn, small tear in it. The rear seat has a tear in the back. Also notice that this car has a pretty rare, package tray defogger for the rear window. The door panels are original, but need restored. The carpet is original, under the drivers floor mat, there is a hole, about the size of a baseball in carpet, I forgot to pull the mat out and take a picture. The carpet is aged, and could use replaced in the future if you so chose. The gauges are working, odometer, speedometer all work. The seat belt light works as well. The windows roll up and down nicely. The front windshield was replaced recently. Overall the interior is very serviceable if you want to just drive it, if you choose to restore it, it is pretty basic to replace the seat covers, carpet, dash pad etc. The steering wheel is in excellent condition, pretty amazing. It had one of those leather wraps around the rim of it, which saved it. Overall, look at the pictures you will get a pretty good idea of what the car looks like. I have tried to give as much description as I could, I try my best.If you have any other questions about this Nova Super Sport please give me call would love to tell you more about it, if interested in a buy it now, let me know. Give me a Call if you have questions! *U.S. and International bidders welcome as long as your friendly! The Plates on the car are only on for show, these are what would be on the car in Oregon if it were sold here new in 1973, they are out of my collection. It comes with Washington State Collector Vehicle Lic. plate. Correct 1973 Rallye Wheels look great on this car. You can see in this photo, the quarter panel, or maybe the door is a little off in color, and obviously down under the body line behind the rear wheel color does not match. Factory Super Sports, had the rear taillight panel painted Flat Black. This Super Sport has a nice stance. After owning this car a little bit, the 1973-74 Nova's have really grown on me, they are a handsome car. I actually love the looks of the headlights and grill area and how the bumper is rounded at the bottom of the headlights, good looking. Free and Clear Title, Washington Title. VIN on the drivers side of dash. Matches title, door, and engine, and yes the build sheet!!! VIN on Engine pad on passenger side. ....198328 CKW - 1973 Chevrolet 350 with Automatic Transmission. Both Build Sheets, Z26 SS EQP PKG, G80-Postrac Axle, L65 350 V8, ZR8 White Rallye Decal on side of car. Original door Vin tag. Original Owners manual and other nice information. Ad from 1999 with the car for sale. The second owner bought it from out of this advertisement. In 1999 it had 44K advertised on it, funny that was 16 years ago, that just seemed like yesterday!!! It had earlier Rallye wheels on it in 1999, with the originals in the trunk, obviously the original Original SS steering wheel. Here this is interesting, the original edge of the White Side strips. Seat has some wear to it, but it is original. Floral pattern in the seats. Original Gas Pedal and brake pad, not all worn out. Here the odometer is 79,399 there is another picture in auction while I am driving it with 79,401. Headliner is in good shape but has shrunk a little and sagging. I think it could be removed with its original backer board stretched and glued back. There are many little dings down the side of the car. Engine compartment is tiddy. Newer mastercylinder on it, notice the belt of the AC unit, car is running in all the pictures. Pretty decent trunk area. Original jack, no spare. There is some heavier pitting in the trunk, around the were the bottom of jack is, but every solid, absolutely solid. Inside the trunk and quarters very clean. This car is amazing underneath, check out the floors, and frame rails!!! Light surface rust, nothing major, easy clean up. Beautiful Frame rails. Also very nice rockers, extremely solid. Original 1973 Chevy Rallye Wheels. Small scratches on drivers door. There are many chips and scratches on this car, this is not a 20-25K show car, it is a Survivor, that has never been restored Couple little superficial bubbles blister below the trim. Couple small bubbles the bottom of the fenders on each side. Dings across the door. Small chips and tiny dings on passenger quarter panel. Around all the wheel lips are very nice on this car. No bubbles under the vinyl top, very nice condition. Rear window defogger, rare option. Vinyl Top is in very nice condition.
