Hello and thanks for looking at my auction, Up for bid is a 1971 Vw Bus, it is the last year for the "upright" air cooled engine. I have looked this bus over really well where it sits and can describe it as a great candidate for either restoration or fix the engine and drive as is. It was a driver until it had engine problems and has been parked since 2012, the engine will not turn over right now. The front nose is in great shape and there is no visible rust under the windshield, for some reason that is the place where bays always tend to rust. The transaxle was shifting smooth the last time it was on the road and even the tires are not that old. On the underside of the bus the outriggers and the frame look all solid from what I can tell. The rockers have some rust bubbling up but no rot through them. The cargo door rocker is in great shape, and although there is some rust in the floor it is in better shape then most I have seen from this area that have not been repaired. The rear package trey of the bus is in great shape, the engine bay is in great shape as well. Although the battery tray is rusted out with a piece of wood over it so the battery wouldn't fall out when it was on the road, all of the seats are present even the all allusive middle seat that seems to always sneak away from these buses. The front floor does have rust on the outer edges the floor. There are some fiberglass patches over they metal where it is rusted.
