Vehicle Detail

The vehicle you are looking at represents a shining example of why General Motors should have been left for dead in 2009. In my 15 years of ownership, this Pontiac has proven to be the single biggest POS I have ever owned, bar none. With just 62,135 miles on the clock, it has consumed six window regulators, an intake manifold, a radio, a steering rack, and countless other components that would not have failed on any ordinary car over the course of twice as many miles. If it didn’t have a broken alternator, I’d be tempted to drive it onto Mary Barra’s front yard and set fire to it. Here is what’s good (and not so good): The 3.8l non-supercharged engine pulls like a locomotive and doesn’t burn oil because it received regular fluid changesThe mass air flow sensor as well as an intake gasket were replaced about six months agoThe transmission shifts solid and smooth and has never had problemsThe gauge pack and stereo both work (although it is unknown if the CD or cassette work)The AC works greatThe tires have very few miles on them, having been replaced within the last couple of years only because of UV damageThe battery is virtually new (I’ve replaced them on a regular basis, likely due to a combination of GM’s idiotic decision to locate the battery under the back seat regardless of how hot the cabin might get in Texas, and something in the car’s electronics that intermittently fails to shut completely off)The gray leather seats are in great condition and without tears (it was a single owner/driven car). This said, the lone driver hated this car as much as anyone and because of that lost interest in cleaning it 13 years ago; the interior is dirty and the headliner is falling downThe car hasn’t seen snow in 10 years and has no rust perforation. However, there is some paint bubbling at the front of the hood As you can see by the pictures, the car suffers from a LOT of UV damage. The clear coat has failed, and the black rubber trim has deteriorated to near non-existence. There are several small dents and some larger scratches, but the car has never been in an accident as far as I know (we purchased it from a previous owner during its second year) IMPORTANT NOTE: This car can only be driven to the extent that it can be positioned behind a tow truck, and as long as the battery is charged enough to run it. The charging system does not work. In addition, the airbag light is illuminated (as it has been for the better part of the past decade) Cashier’s check or cash only, and by all means, caveat emptor. Happy bidding, and by all means pick it up promptly (before I get the urge to let my neighbors try out my new sledge hammer)
