Vehicle Detail

NO RESERVE, this car will sell to the highest bidder. We bought this car hoping to fix a minor problem and make a few bucks. The engine wasn't firing on all cylinders and we thought it could be a bad coil pack. It turned out to be a burned exhaust valve. The repair is the same as a head gasket repair. A dealer charges over $5000 for this. My son is a Volvo mechanic and we did the needed repair (pulled the head, had a machine shop replace the bad valve and all of the valve guides). We replaced the head gasket, used brand new Volvo head bolts, replaced the timing belt and water pump while we were there. We also did a complete 50 pt inspection and did front brakes, replaced upper and lower radiator hoses, flushed the cooling system, did the basics, including transmission service and oil change and had the car detailed to "like new" condition. We also replaced spark plugs and injector o-rings. I love this car. It's comfortable, quiet, rides great, has a ton of room and it's faaaasst! I can't believe how much power this thing has. If it was a sports coupe, it would be fast, but it's a wagon! You may find an XC70 for less, but it'll have higher mileage and the timing belt will need to be replaced at 130k miles and you'll be up for a $5000 repair soon but not with this car because ALL that work has already been done. This car is ready to run another 100,000 miles. I'm keeping the car at my office in Orange CA and if you'd like to see it and drive it just text me and I'd be glad to work with your schedule. Clear carfax and it just passed smog. The interior is in beautiful shape. The black leather is in great shape. The ONLY interior item is the arm rest in the front, it has some normal wear from the drivers elbow. Everything else (door panels, dash, seat leather, everything... is in like new shape) As a point of disclosure, when we bought the car, we had to have a locksmith to get into the car. The locksmith dented the "A" pillar. I had the A- Pillar professionally repaired at the body shop.On Jan-09-15 at 23:35:35 PST, seller added the following information: A potential bidder asked about the "base wagon description" and it brings up something which I should mention and doesn't seem to be listed. The wagon is a turbo 2.5 litre engine, not a normally aspirated 2.5 litre engine. On Jan-10-15 at 16:02:43 PST, seller added the following information: I've attached a couple additional photos. One which shows the sunroof better (seemed to be a few questions about whether the car had this feature or not). The second photo is a better photo of the interior as my other photos were washed out and you couldn't see that the interior is black and that it's in really good shape. I'm glad I took this photo because it shows something on the drivers seat. It looks like chalk, it's ON the leather, not a wear spot through the leather. I don't want to try various cleaners and affect the tanning, so I'm going to leave it alone, but I'd start with something like goo-gone and see how it does.
