Vehicle Detail
Hi - Thanks for looking and Merry Christmas! I am offering up my 1998 Volvo S70 Sedan with 197,497 miles for a Buy-it-Now or Best Offer. I am entertaining serious offers, so please don't waste either of our times with low ball offers! The car is in great running condition, but it does need some work - no major work, however. Please see below for all information. Engine- Engine starts right up with NO issues and idles smooth for a car of it's age. The engine has the serpentine belt, distributor cap, plugs and wires all replaced about 10,000 miles ago. Oil/Filter was changed 4/2014 and only has 2,000 miles on it since it was changed. One thing to note is when the original owner bought this car he immediately put synthetic oil in. Since then the car has only run synthetic oil. I don't know if this attributes to it's excellent running condition, but it's something to consider. The ABS light does come on every now and again. Quite sporadic - it is on in the picture. Tires-Tires do not match. We had purchased some lower end tires for it and they wore VERY fast. The rear tires will need to be replaced soon (~1,000 miles) but the front tires are in good condition, with about 70% tread remaining. They do show the tiniest of dry rot on the outer wall, but a mechanic told me that it wouldn't affect the handling. Right front tire also needs air every 2 weeks. Brakes/Rotors-I just purchased BRAND NEW brakes and rotors for this vehicle. They are sitting in the back seat waiting to be installed. 4 rotors, 8 pads. If you are mechanically inclined this is a fairly simple job. I personally don't have a garage to complete the work. If you chose to keep driving with the current brakes and rotors - that is OK too. They work just fine, but are coming to the end of their useful life. Interior- The interior does show wear for its age. There are two tears on the driver side door leather (see picture). People have told me it can be repaired, but it never really bothered me. Carpets are in good condition considering they are factory OEM. Seats are in good condition, not problems. They aren't power but do have seat warmers and they both work! There is a panel underneath the steering wheel which has come off - VERY common on this model, I have it, but it does not stay on for long. Could be screwed back on. Heat/Air Conditoning-The heater works, but the heater core is leaking which causes the windshield to fog up. Luckily I have a NEW heater core in the box, ready to be installed, but again I don't have the time right now to put it in. The A/C hasn't worked since I purchased the car. The mechanic told me a year ago that it needed freon, so again, something to consider. Suspension- Has a new left front Control Arm and CV Joint ($750 job) as of 1/2014 which is documented. No problems since. Exterior- Vehicle color was changed from Maroon to Metallic Black in 2010. Paint remains in great condition. Dent on the right front quarter-panel - this was there when I purchased the vehicle in 2009. Documentation- Comes with all the manuals - including radio code - and some service records. The vehicle does not get driven as much as it deserves. My wife and I both travel for work so it is mostly an airport car. It was driven from Charlotte to Detroit and back last winter and it performed perfectly - very reassuring. Great in the snow, great in the warm climates too! Please feel free to ask questions! It really is time for someone else to enjoy her. Why are we getting rid of her? We are relocating from NC to MA and are fortunate enough to be near public transportation. This was our second car and we just cannot justify it. I planned on keeping her - evident by me buying all the parts to tune her up. She is an amazing member of our family, but it's time to say goodbye. I am entertaining offers, so please feel free! Vehicle is located in Huntersville, NC - very accessible to the Charlotte Douglas Int'l Airport and I-77 or I-85. $200 Deposit required within 24 hours of auction close!
