Vehicle Detail
Hi All I have a 08 VW GTI (Black,4 door) with Autobahn package. This is my only car and I use it for daily driving. I have DWS tires on the front which has less than 16k miles on it and Ultra High Performance tires in the rear -I think they are close to 30k miles. Exterior and Interior is in great condition. There is a small dent in the back bumper at the bottom which is plastic. The drivers' side door has a small dent near to the B pillar- somebody at my company's parking location might have opened the door and hit it.. Wheels are 18 inch alloys ;have some scratches on all of them. The car has close to 100,000 miles on it. The engine quit working because of a cam follower (which runs on the fuel pump )wear issue. I got it to a shop and they saw that there was some metal shavings in the oil pan and the head has some wear on the journal bearings. In order to contain the cost the best option is to have my engine to be replaced and I do not have the time to get a new/used engine and fix it. That is why I am selling the car. I have seen similar issues for VW /Audi customers in the VW forums. Cars until 07 had extended warranty for this for 120k miles and they stopped it for 08 and unfortunately I got hit with this issue. If you are interested in buying the car, please respond and I will get back to you at the earliest. Initially I thought it was jut a replacement of the camshaft ,cam follower and was intent on working on it. But once the shop took the camshafts off they said that the head had some scoring on the journal bearings as well as on the camshafts..So the head is not useable. I am not sure about the block- it seems to be fine... it is a lot of work to get it all together to work by myself .
