Here for sale is one of the cleanest early 528e's around. I recently bought car for my wife (who just didn't get it) from the second owner here in San Diego who bought it in 1992 from the first owner also here in San Diego. Car is in excellent mechanical condition, in need of nothing. Second owner replaced engine in January,2013 with another 1988 M20 engine that was bought locally from Autobahn. Engine is strong and doesn't smoke or leak oil. A new timing belt was installed at the time of the engine swap. Second owner also did a lot of other work including shocks and suspension. I just did the rear brakes and also adjusted the valves The body is straight as an arrow with no rust, dents, dings or major scratches. The paint is in remarkable condition. It is all original but for the front hood which was repainted and clear coated. The color match is perfect (i.e., undetectable). The underbody is rust free and dry. The interior is in good shape. Headliner has no rips or stains. Door panels and pockets are straight and clean. Carpet doesn't have any significant wear or stains. The driver's seat bottom does have some tears as pictured. (I received an estimate of $450 from Autos International to replace the seat bottom only). The back seats also have a few small tears as pictured. The dash has a few cracks but not as bad as most. The tires are like new. The A/C blows cold. The aftermarket modern radio/Cd unit with iPod connection has a nice sound. The electric antenna is not going up. Car has clean Carfax and just passed California smog emissions test. "WHITE CARS ARE FASTER"! Car is for sale elsewhere and I reserve right to stop auction at anytime.
