Vehicle Detail
Re-listed due to a non-paying bidder. Please only bid if you are a responsible adult and understand how eBay works. This is an exceptional and mostly original Y84 Special Edition Turbo Trans Am (with WS6 package) with a little over 32,000 miles. I bought this car earlier this year to make a resto-mod and decided against it when the PHS report came in and confirmed it is a real Y84 car. I also located the original build sheet behind the seat confirming this...I have subsequently purchased another 1981 TA for the original project. I will try to describe everything that I know about the car, please keep in mind that I have driven it less than 100 miles. If you have any questions about anything specifically, don't hesitate to email and I will try my best to answer them or send additional pictures if you need them. First, as far as the exterior goes, the paint on the body appears to be original and is in excellent condition. This is one of the main reasons I bought this car in the first place, it looks great! The decals and pin striping have no fading or cracks, so I think it is safe to say they have been replaced at some point. The only thing I would as far as paint goes it the rear bumper and spoiler both have a couple of areas where the clear coat is lifting...not noticeable until you are looking close, but the rest is so nice it is probably worth re-doing if you are going to put the car in shows. The tires are brand new, they are Radial T/As in 245/60-15 size. The wheels have no curb damage and appear original, one of them has a small amount of the gold paint coming off. All of the exterior lights and signals work fine. The turbo lights in the hood scoop all work perfectly. The t-tops are in good condition, no leaks, etc. The doors have no sagging and open and close easily, what you would expect of a low-mileage car. I have found no evidence of rust anywhere, trunk, doors, panels and underside all look great. The engine runs and sounds great. It is one of the stronger Turbo 301s I've had. Transmission shifts perfectly and the rear end is a positrac. It is a fun car to drive! Heat and air conditioning work great, I just spent over $2,000 replacing the compressor, dryer and evaporator, it has been converted to 134a refrigerant. No leaks underneath. It has about $600 worth of high-end adjustable shocks and upgraded sway bars underneath, so it handles great as well. Inside looks very stock and original. The driver's seat inserts look to have been replaced with a very close pattern to the original, see pictures. The Delco AM/FM stereo works fine. It looks like there was something mounted on the console at one time under the radio, the holes have been filled but not re-dyed. All of the gauges work, except for the clock. Here are the items that I know of that still need attention: "Brake" light on the dashboard doesn't light up when you apply the parking brake.Cruise control won't come on.The power door locks unlock the doors, but sometimes won't lock the driver's door. This car is about to be for sale locally, so auction may end early. Winning bidder must send $500 deposit within 24 hours of auction end. Balance can be paid by wire transfer or cash. Cashier's checks or other funds must completely clear before the vehicle can be transferred. Car needs to be picked up within 2 weeks after close of auction. I have a clear Texas title in hand. Again, email if you have any question or want pictures and I will do my best to accommodate your requests. Bidder with less than 10 positive feedbacks need to contact me prior to bidding.
