Vehicle Detail
Rare find discovered just a short time ago. A low mileage and unmolested original with matching numbers and low miles. Of all of the Corvettes I've owned for the past years, this one stands alone for condition. I didn't buy this with selling in mind. I fully intended on doing a full and proper restoration. But, I'm not done with my Firebird yet and don't have the time to do both. This car has never been hit and all of the bonding strips and seams look great. I even pulled the tank to see if the build sheet was still there but didn't find it. What I did find was that even the portion of the car that is never seen and rarely if ever shown to potential buyers, was also in excellent condition! I'm including some shots of this as well. I didn't take the time to dismount the dash to look for the build sheet. Even the clock works perfectly! Original spare still mounted in the carrier and in excellent condition! When's the last time, if ever you've seen this? This car has been off of the road for many years and tucked away. Engine still cranks and runs perfectly and transmission shifts silky smooth. Brakes felt a little soft to me. I did pull all four wheels to check pad and caliper condition. These all looked good and bleeder screws not corroded and loosen up just fine. I did find that the original fuel feed and vent lines were starting to crack so I replaced them when I took the tank out. Car comes with original matching carb, air cleaner, shielding, exhaust manifolds, manifold shielding and many other parts for your restoration. Lots of documentation including original owners manual, previous registrations, emissions test (this one still has the catalytic converters intact also). All original and correct glass still intact! Original cars like this one when restored will always command the very top prices. The 1977 model is the last of the short rear window platforms. The 1977 models are also selling for more that the 1976 and 1978 models. I was going to take off the deck spoiler shown in the pics prior to my painting if I had kept this car. I'll leave it on and let the new owner decide if they want to keep it or sell it. This is a perfect opportunity for someone wanting to get into the rare car collector market without going broke. I'm sure the sight of the original spare still intact will make some of you very happy. Lots of nice 'Vettes out there for sale. But very few in this physical condition. Only 3434 out of 49,213 were produced in this dark red! Good luck with the auction and don't hesitate to email me with any and all questions you may have. A 1000.00 deposit is due within 72 hours after end of sale. Balance due within 10 days after end of auction by either cash, postal or bank money order or a combination of the two. The price of fuel is down and there are some really good deals on shipping. I'll adjust my schedule at work and make myself available whenever needed when the car is to be picked up.
