I am 100% serious and I'll tell you why. I've sold dozens of this 126 body style. THEY MADE A HELLUVA GOOD CAR! This car had the state of the art safety functions that aren't all that far from what we still use today. ** AIR BAG ** & ** ANTILOCK BRAKES** are just a couple of the many safety features of this model. It carries the little V8 that could. The 3.8 liter proved to be a work horse after Mercedes ironed out a timing chain issue from the earlier cars. By 1985, the engine was well refined including the double roller timing chain. OK, they weren't the most powerful engine ever put in a Mercedes, but do you really want to drive this refined Motor Car like a gearhead and waste a lot of fuel? Of course not. This little motor does a nice job getting what is more important than running hard-GETTING GOOD GAS MILEAGE! So we sacrifice a little power for the respectable fuel mileage. Let me mention a couple other reasons why you could drive this car daily. Parts are readily available around the net, and very fairly priced too. Of course the best reason to use this car as a daily diver is BECAUSE IT DRIVES SO WELL! THE BODY, PAINT, INTERIOR PANELS AND SEAT COVERS, WOOD, BRIGHTWORK AND UNDERCARRIAGE, ALL SHOW SUPERIOR QUALITY. THIS CAR IS **LAZER STRAIGHT!!!!** This is not one of those cars where the owner let it get door dings and parked "by feel." The paint is absolutely beautiful and original! If you look very closely, you will find a few very minor scratches that you will find on any 30 year old car. But very few and very minor. The brightwork proves that it was kept inside. Brightwork is the true tell of a car's time outside and what kind of environment it was kept in. The owner obviously gave this beauty the very best of care. Most of the exhaust looks like it has been replaced within the last couple thousand miles. The tire are like new, top of the line Michelins. Look closely at the pictures of the interior. The Textured seat covers still look new! As do the door panels, visors, dash cap, headliner, rugs and especially the wood. I am amazed at what a time capsule it really is. To have survived 30 years in our harsh driving environment and still look like this, shows dedicated ownership of this superior quality collectable. ** IT TRULY IS A SURVIVOR!!! ** As I mentioned, I try to describe my cars fairly. That includes the good and bad. As nice as this car is, it cannot be flawless. There are no perfect used cars. Maybe some that are restored to perfection, but cars that have had street use, have flaws. This Benz really is in excellent conditiont. The windows and sunroof work great. No warning lights. only 45,000 ACTUAL MILES! The gauges all read perfectly, it stops, runs and drives great, although a slight tire vibration at highway speeds may be felt. But I am very picky and you may not notice it. A tire balance would be my guess. The climate control seems to change air temperature and divert air correctly, but the air didn't seem cold to me. A charge may be in order. Other than that, It would be hard to find fault. Even the clock and cruise control work! They were know to be a Mercedes weak point. All in all, I could not sell you a better show car, investment car, daily driver combination. None of this could be said unless this car was of exceptional quality. Thank you for your time.
