Vehicle Detail

1929 Model A Roadster on an original 32' chassis. This car is a Postwar era hotrod that was built as if it was built in the late 40's early 50's. This car wears number 78B as it was raced in 2013 at The Race of Gentlemen. It was also at the 2014 TROG. The original 29' roadster body was fitted to one of the nicest 32' chassis we have ever seen and has all 3 vin numbers that are easy to read. The frame had a clear 1932 coupe title so the car is registered as that. Body is original 29' body with typical lower patches and rear subrails and floors modified to fit frame. The decklid is a Brookville part as are the patches but the rest of the car is Ford. The upper dash rail was removed after the 2013 TROG so that the Sellers/O'Brian Hallock windshield could be installed. The windshield has the glass groove and 1/4" laminated safety glass installed. The body was disassembled and sandblasted before any metal work was done. All patches were TIG welded in and ground. This car has no body work done as it was to look like an old race car of the era. The finish is green Self etching primer. Grill Shell and insert are original that was filled a long time ago and needs work. Headlights are old Dietz sealed beams and tail light is 20's Chrysler? Hood top in 1 piece made of steel using 32' hold downs and straps. Chassis is an original "B" 4 cylinder 32' frame. The frame had very little pitting and has all original 32' crossmembers. The rear crossmember was narrowed to accept the 29' body. The K-member uses original Mint 32' pedals with the Richard Lacy juice brake conversion. Front suspension is original 32' wishbone, 4" dropped Okie Joe Heavy axle, original 32' spring perches, reversed eye 31 1/2" main, 37-41 round back spindles, 40' juice brakes, F-1 shock mounts and Tube shocks, 32' steering box. Rear Axle and spring is 40' Ford as are the rear brakes. The 40' torque tube and driveshaft was shortened to fit original K member. Rear spring ground to fit 32' rear crossmember. 48' style tube shock mounts on rear with 48' tube shocks fitted to rear crossmember. 46-48 short rear wishbones. All Shackles, hardware, fittings, etc was replaced when car was built in 2013 with original style repros. Front wheels are 16" X 4" with Coker 5.00-16 Ribbed blackwalls and rear wheels are 16" x 4.5" with Coker 7.50-16" Deluxe Champions. Engine- 1949-53' 8BA flathead bored .060" over w/ 239" crank, original curve script Edelbrock heads, Original Edelbrock block letter 8BA 2 x 2 intake with original Stromberg 97 carbs, Mallory Dual point 8BA distributor. Mercury stamped steel bell housing and early 39' Toploader with double detent top, original 32' clutch lever and 32' trans mount to K member. Running an aftermarket aluminum radiator. Original 8BA generator converted to 12V Car is driven weekly and runs strong and reliable. Driven from Knoxville to Bowling Green Ky for Hot Rod Reunion in 2014. Serious Inquiries only. for more info please call Jim Barillaro 865-805-9381. I will be glad to take any photos of details and email them to serious buyers. On Nov-05-14 at 05:41:15 PST, seller added the following information: The dash is an aluminum engine turned one that was made to work without an upper dash rail because of the hillock windshield. Gauges are Stewart Warner Mechanical Oil pressure, 2 Mechanical water temp (one in each head), Ammeter, and an electric tachometer. The tach is the 2nd one I have installed and the needle bounces around and doesn't work right. The torque tube has a speedo drive on it and a speedometer could be added. Seat belts are old aircraft type. interior is very minimal and uses the original A seat riser. The fuel tank is a Speedster tank that I bought thru Snyder's new and I think it was about 10 gallon.
