Up for sale is a very clean 1971 convertible bug, which runs great! I just purchased the vehicle from a older gentleman who bought it for his wife over 20 years ago! Unfortunately she never got used to the stick shift and he just kept it stored in his garage which was immaculate. Reason he sold it was he thought it was a waste not to use it. I have had it to a couple of car shows and boy does it turn the heads. As near as my mechanic and the guy I bought it from this is the original mileage. It goes down the road smooth no vibrations, seems tight. At this time the only thing that does not work is the windshield wipers, which worked fine until I was working on the wiring near the radio? (Probably a simple fix) I honestly do not know much about the Volkswagens, but seem simple to work on. The previous owner also stated that there was some tinkering needed to the air duck work in the trunk. The interior seats are solid with the only exception is to the drivers seat which has a couple of 3 inch tears in the bottom portion. I did not want to do more damage so I installed car seat covers on front seats, no other tears noted. There also is some mildew noted on interior, which the car show people stated could be cleaned up easily with mild soap and water. The external of the car is in excellent condition, the previous owner did try to repair a couple of scratches with touch up paint, but no rust! The convertible top is like new! The tires show very little wear! this vehicle is clean and ready to drive! Reason for selling, moving south! There also is a nice cover that goes on the convertible fold down which accents the car nicely. this I have decided to lower the price of the car from Buy now From: $7295.00 to $6995.00 As the car has not been run that much and is need of a tune up, it d also has a buzzing noise which is associated with the electrical panel/ flashier. It also needs some other tinkering that to make it run 100%. YOU STILL will not find a cleaner body on a 1971 Volkswagen. WAY underpriced, but we are heading south and need to find a home for this car in the near future.. Take advantage of my move.
