We bought this car with the hopes of cleaning it up, selling it for a profit but when we were able to drive it, the car stumbles or falters under acceleration. It idles fine, but it won't pass smog the way it is. Full disclosure, Isuzu stopped being sold in the States and so technical support is non - existent. Isuzu and Honda both produced this car, so you may be able to get the problem sorted out through a Honda specialist, I don't know, but the sale of the car is "As Is" if you buy it, you buy the problem I can't solve too, no returns. What we've done to solve the problem (at least this shortens your list of things to try), we've replaced the timing belt and tensioner. The fuel filter, spark plugs and most expensively, the Engine Control Module. None of these items solved the problem, but like I said, process of elimination, you're closer to having a really nice car if you can figure it out. We replaced the shocks, and did brakes. The tires are near new. The interior needs cleaning but is in GREAT shape as is the outside of the vehicle. The A/C blows cold, transmission shifts fine. Good luck bidding, if you're a first time bidder, and can't complete the sale, please don't waste my time. The car is drivable and it can be driven short distances for pick up but much outside my immediate area, I'd make arrangements for towing just in case. The car has clear title and clear car fax. It is NOT salvaged title. Buyer will be responsible for smog and title so bid accordingly. Let me know if you have questions.On Oct-08-14 at 18:02:21 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention, we replaced both Catalytic Converters since they were clearly bad (interior structure had disintegrated) and it was throwing codes which confirmed the Cats were bad. Although they needed to be replaced, that did not solve the other problem.
