Vehicle Detail
Time to thin the herd. Beautiful 1972 Honda CL 175 K6. A true time capsule. 42 years old and looks and runs like new. Parked with only 5700 miles. Completely original and unaltered. Stored for many years. Documents from the original Owner, selling Dealer and American Honda. Including Brochure with Dealers Stamp, Original 1972 Title and Registration, American Honda warranty card and Thank You letter. To return the Bike to service I did the following: Points inspected and timing checked, Carb bowls unclipped and inspected, Compression checked good and equal both sides. Valve clearance checked. Cam chain adjusted. The oil was clean but was of unknown quality so it was changed with high quality semi synthetic Castrol oil with JASO rating. Centrifugal oil filter inspected and found to be spotless. Cables lubed. All lighting checked. Charging system checked. The battery is the only non original part of the bike, it was charged and tested. The fuel tank was clean inside however a preservative lining of "Red Kote" was done. Red Kote is an industrial tank lining product. It is alcohol resistant. The tank was prepped with an acetone wash. NO acid was put in the tank. Modern alcohol fuels quickly ruin steel tanks. Currently I am fortunate and can buy alcohol free fuel but for how long? The tank will now last another 40 years. The chain and sprockets are original and good. The tires are the origional Bridgestones and are cracking. I have riden arount the neighborhood but I would not concider them safe at speed. There are a couple of nitpicks...The screwdriver is missing from the tool kit. The seat surface where the rider sits has a small area that has previously been repaired. It looks professionally done with a product made for that purpose. There are some minute pimples in the chrome of the rear fender. Some very fine scratches on the frame and paint. These flaws are too small to be seen in photos. But in the interest of honesty I am being very critical here. Also there are small stickers on the rear shocks that have faded so they are not readable. I recently found they are available from a company in Canada for only $7. I had to leave something for you to do. Right? The Bike has been selected for display at the Barber Vintage Festival in Leeds Alabama. You can see it in West Palm Beach before the 8th. It will be on display Friday October 10th thru Sunday 12th. It will be in the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club (VJMC) area. Then it will be back in West Palm Beach, FL. If you live along the route between Leeds and West Palm Beach delivery is a possibility for a small fee to cover the fuel the RV burns at an alarming rate. You can pick the Bike up at the Barber event if you want. If you need to ship it I will work with the shipper you choose. I had some fun with the price since the year is close to the value of the Bike. Use "Ask a question" to send reasonable offers along with your phone number and I will call you to discuss.
