Vehicle Detail

For your bidding pleasure as we continue selling off the Spring Valley Mustang collection, a 1966 Mustang Sedan with gull wing front fenders, six cylinder motor and three speed transmission. A former drug runner this car was customized by the U.S. Customs Service in 1996 when it was seized at the Tijuana border crossing with contraband on board. Truly a rare look. Rather than unbolt and remove the fenders they used pry bars! The end result is this flaring of the fenders! Much of the dash was also disassembled; see photos. The car was subsequently auctioned off by the Feds and has been sitting mostly outdoors since that time and seldom covered so there is significant, though very rare, California rust. The rust is all around the usual window and top places and the lower door corners; see photos. The rust includes the unibody floor on the right side under the seats; see photo. There was significant modification of the front wheel wells where a compartment was installed by the drug runner and then removed, with prejudice, by the aforementioned Customs guys; see the photo. Let's be honest here. This car is really - really rough and, in my opinion, is strictly a parts car. I would not repair it but, hey, I know some of you guys with long cold winters and heated garages have been known to put together some miracles so...who knows. The engine turns with a wrench on the crank pulley and it was driving across the border when seized; it used to run. There is a unique collection of baling wire and speedometer cable holding the exhaust up which illustrates the type of maintenance and care it received before; see the photos. If you have questions please ask before you bid. I am really tired of folks retracting bids after they sober up and you will find I have blocked those of you who have done so. Sorry, but I am here to sell these cars, not play games. The sale is 100% as - is - where is and there will be no refunds. It is located in Spring Valley California (suburb of San Diego) and may be inspected by appointment. This car is being sold on a Federal Bill Of Sale as received from U.S. Customs in 1996. I have a forklift and will load it for free. Pick it up or arrange transportation within thirty days as storage accrues at $10 per day after that. In other words you have thirty days free to pick it up and storage starts after that. The starting bid is based upon an offer from a local Pick Your Part yard which will get it if we do not get a higher bid on eBay.
