Vehicle Detail
pcwolfe Store We have here an original 1960 Chrysler Windsor 4-door sedan. The following model year they called this model a 300. It is entirely original, and has 62,168 miles on it. It was last registered in 1971, when it was driven into a garage and untouched until this year. There is surface rust and some rust perforations. The seats are in fairly decent shape and can possibly be restored. Head-liner is drooping. Original Chrysler keys and owners manual included. All the glass is perfect. The taillight lenses are perfect. The engine is a 383 2-barrel. The oil and transmission fluids are full. This car was built with power steering, power brakes, power seat, automatic headlight dimmer, and I believe power radio antenna. Tires are original and cannot be trusted, but are currently holding air. The rims are all corroded and mounting replacement tires on them may be difficult without tubes. The passenger side front fender rusted through over the headlights and was covered with a fiberglass patch. The remaining sheet metal appears to be solid, with the exception of some small spots. All of the stainless trim, medallions, etc is present. Bumpers will require re-plating. Passenger side rear bumper piece is rotted through. No spare tire. All 4 original hubcaps are present. All the trim molding is stainless steel. One long piece has dropped off the passenger side. It can be seen in the trunk. When we tried to pull the car out of the garage we found that it was solidly gripping the concrete floor. All four drum brakes were rusted inside the drums. I pulled all the drums and removed the brake shoes. The pushbutton transmission, THREE SPEED TORQUEFLITE, does not have a park position. Instead it relies on a foot pedal activated drum brake on the end of the transmission to act as an emergency brake. Of course this too was rusted solid. In order to make the car towable without disconnecting the driveshaft, I removed the woodruff key from the driver-side rear axle so that wheel could turn. The transmission Neutral button is present in the push button compartment. It has fallen inside the control panel. The car is now out in the open air, available for inspection by appointment. The original aluminum keys are present. I have not put a good battery in it to see if it cranks. The car was stored long before the title law was enacted. No registration or license plate tags were found. The vehicle id is 81 03110216. This ID is unique to Chrysler and does not conform to the standardized VINs now used. It's number 10216 of Windsors that year. I have obtained a valid Massachusetts title for the car. Car obviously can only be ramp platform trucked away (ZIP 01031). It is being sold as-is, where-is, with no warranty whatsoever. Shipping is entirely the responsibility of the buyer. If you would like additional pictures of any specific view, email me.
