Vehicle Detail
I purchased this car in 2012, and intended to keep it forever. Unfortunately, family circumstances and permission from my wife to finally get a motorcycle have changed things! I am the third owner. The original owner purchased the car in Arizona and drove it for many years. The second owner purchased the car and brought it to Michigan, where he stored it in the winters and only drove it in the summers because it was in such good condition. Both owners had it regularly maintained by Mercedes. I purchased the car and had it as a daily driver for a couple years. I did drive it through one Michigan winter, but I undercoated the entire frame and underside, and had a monthly car wash pass so that I could wash it 4-5 times/week. I have all of the service history records from the prior owners. I myself have replaced some springs on the transmission, changed transmission fluids and filter, replaced vacuum modulator, did valve adjustments, and tweaked the vacuum system to get a perfect shift! I also disconnected the EGR, but it is still in place. This girl runs like the day she was first fired up, and rides like the luxury sedan it was built to be! Everything is in original condition except for the stereo, the tinted windows, and the headlights. The head unit and speakers were junk, so I put an aftermarket stereo in. I replaced the head unit, the front and rear speakers, and wired it all in for an amp in the trunk. I did remove the rear speakers and the amp to put in my new (used) truck, but everything is wired up and I left the front speakers and head unit. I kept the old head unit in the trunk. I used the original speaker locations in the front, but in the rear, I used the original locations for the tweeters, and put the woofers in the storage and medical kit spaces. There is even a microphone so you can speak on the phone through your car (bluetooth connnection). I also replaced the head lights with the eurostyle ones because they look way better, and that was how the car was built to look! The tinted windows were a no-brainer with the white, and look awesome! Oh, and I also reconditioned the wheels. And I replaced the battery this year. AC needs a recharge. The interior is in excellent condition. Some minor wear on the front seats, but nothing crazy at all. The exterior paint is in great shape. There is some touched up dots here and there, but no major issues! I get compliments on this car all the time for the great shape it is in. Now for the bad: Some bozo rear-ended me at a stoplight. The damage is visually minimal: scratches on the bumper, a small dent in the trunk, and a small dent in rear passenger bumper. I had it quoted at a body shop and it was about $2k to repair. Small price to pay to return this car to it's pristine condition, but I don't want to deal with it since I'm selling. As you may know, the W126 body style with the 5 cylinder turbo diesel is considered one of the most-reliable, well-built engines Mercedes has ever made. This car is already in the 250,000 kilometer club, and has the genuine Mercedes certificate to prove it! It's a mark of pride to see how many miles can be put on these cars, and 209,000 miles is just a toddler still! Check out and pics and place a bid, you won't be disappointed! The car is currently in storage and will remain so until sold!
