Vehicle Detail

1987 Mercedes 300SDL Up for sale I have my fathers 1987 Mercedes 300sdl in excellent condition with low miles for its year and the car spent its life in California and most of its life garaged and very well taken care of. My father no longer has space to store this car so I am selling it for him, he took many photos of the car to show its condition. The car was just serviced by my dad including engine oil, oil filter, transmission fluid and filter, both primary and secondary fuel filters, glow plugs, a/c was just checked before summer and works perfectly, blows ice cold on hot summer California days. In the past year the front suspension was rebuilt including truck rods, tie rods, front & rear shocks. The engine starts up excellent and works very smooth( NO clicking or clacking or excessive smoke upon start up). Original low miles on original engine body and transmission. No leaks on the engine or transmission, no worries about parking your diesel on a clean driveway. The transmission has very smooth shifts at all times. The car has very good acceleration, no excessive smoking even with a/c on during hot days. Wheels are nice and shiny, front tires have about 95% left and rear tires have about 85% left. Exterior is in great shape, paint is nice and shiny all around the car, all chrome is nice and shiny, lights are in excellent condition and all bulbs work, even the headlight wipers work. Car has a few dings here and there, small ding on the trunk lid and next to to the rear light has some small scratch/dent. Prior to my dad buying the car it had some front end damage and the car acquired a salvage title, previous owner said that the drivers side fender, bumper, hood, drivers side headlight , a/c condenser, radiator were replaced to fix the car. Original Mercedes part were used to fix the car and there are no signs that the car was ever damaged even upon close examination, looks all original. The car is very smooth on the road, no knocking or any type of unusual noises from the suspension, steering feels tight on the road and car drives straight without any pulling from left or right. Car had recent 4 wheel alignment done and all 4 tires balanced, basically drives like a dream, very smooth. The interior of the car is in immaculate condition for its age, all leather seats are soft and clean from rips or tears, carpets are clean and all the trim. Dashboard doesn't have any cracks, all wood trim are intact and don't show fade like most cars at this year. Now one of the best things about this classic is that all the options it came with work right, so starting with unlocking the car, all the doors, trunk, gas door open and close with the turn of the key. sitting down in the car you adjust your seat to your desirable position and save it to the one of the 2 memory buttons. The interior lights all work as they should, when opening the doors the under door lights come on, rear map lights, front and rear dome lights work at the press of the switch. While starting the car all the proper light come on and glow plug timer does its job on letting you know when to start the car, car start right up with the turn of the key smoothly. Buckle up, all seat belts latch and unlatch properly. The climate control features work correctly and open the proper vents at each settings, heater blows hot on cold mornings and a/c blows ice cold on hot days. Turning on the radio the power antenna comes out and is adjustable with the switch to extend it more, radio works well and all the original speakers work right and sound clear. putting the car into drive or reverse the shifter is smooth and aligned. All the dash lights work for the window switches, climate control, radio, shifter letters. Diving down the street it cruises smooth, all turn signals work properly and when you are cruising on the highway, turn the cruise control on and enjoy the ride. On a nice evening drive open the moon roof(opens and closes smooth with a press of a button) and open the windows, all go up and down smooth. Car get great fuel economy for this full size sedan, averages up to 32 mpg on the highway. Has lots of leg room in the back for your passengers and a spacious trunk for luggage. Overall this is a fantastic car to drive! Must see in person to appreciate the quality and condition of the car. You are welcome to ask questions about the car. We can assist with shipping the car and about 15 miles from the Sacramento airport, Fly in and drive it home event if you live in Maine.
