Vehicle Detail

1970 Triumph Bonneville, fresh restoration of a rust free, 2 owner, numbers matching, bike. I bought the bike with 8415 miles from estate of original owner about 10 years ago. The engine was professionally rebuilt with new pistons, rings, bearings, valves, springs, clutch, primary chain, etc. Instuments restored by Nisonger in N.Y. Tank and fenders professionally painted with Don Hutchinson Astral red/Silver and gold trim. Seat cleaned, stenciled, and new trim ring added by Cool Retro Bikes in Florida. Wheel rims rechromed, hubs powder coated, polished stainless spokes, and new bearings done by Wheel Works in Ca. New brakes, front & rear. Dunlop tires, made in England, like new. Carbs restored by TP Classics. All nuts, bolts, brackets, etc. cleaned, and cad plated by Bilmark. Triumph OEM mufflers. Mufflers: one original to bike, other was only new old stock (Try finding those!). Exhaust header original to bike. New tapered roller steering head bearings. Original wiring and bulbs. New cables. Knee pads like new but not installed, I couldn't cover that beautiful paint. New tool bag and cad plated tools. Chrome plating done by Pauls in Pa. Final tuning done by Wes Scott in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. who said he has only seen one bike better than this one in over 30 years of restoring Triumphs. All receipts included. Documentation since new, which was Aug. 6, 1970 as verified by The Vintage Motor Cycle Club LTD in England, including the original bill of sale, death cert, and probate. This bike was restored using factory original parts, not repros. Pictures taken throughout restore. Owners manual and Clymers shop manual included. I am sure that I have forgotten to mention something, so please ask questions.1969 Manual shown, but 1970 Manual included. This bike starts first kick, runs and stops great. This bike didn't come from the factory with Windtone horns, as stated in Triumph in America, page214 under Mid-season Modifications. "Windtone horns D2256/7 substituted with #70183 units (owing to availability) - T120s, TR6Rs."Grab bar is original, mid year change to all chrome.Mileage may be slightly higher if I go for a short ride. This is one of the very last pre oil in frame Bonnevilles, from one of the best years. My goal when restoring this bike was to have one of, if not the most original 1970 Triumph Bonneville in this country. I have not seen one better in the last 10 years, and I have been looking. If originality isn't important, this bike is not for you. One of this model and year painted with what looked like the incorrect color bid to $20K + fees @ Mecum Monterey. One sold @ Mecum Houston for $20K + fees. These weren't restored with all original parts and are arguably worth less than mine, yet my reserve is well under these prices. If it doesn't sell this year, it will be @ Mecum Las Vegas Bike Auction in January at a much higher reserve. Please ask any questions, come by to see and ride it for yourself. I am located outside Ocala, Florida. I will help with shipping at the buyers expense. Thanks for looking.
