Rare chance to own a true barn (garage) find survivor. I found this car in a central Florida garage where it was parked in 1976. It was driven in for a "restoration" and didn't see daylight again until I pulled it out seven months ago. Car runs and drives great right now. I recently replaced several parts due to the amount of time it sat. NEW parts are complete brake system including master, booster, wheel cylinders, hoses, shoes and hardware. NEW fuel tank with stainless sender (one week old) NEW power steering pump and box. New electric fuel pump with regulator. NOS front marker light/lens assemblies. The light assemblies were just purchased...try to find a set and you will understand the value. I have all four original deep reverse steel wheels in excellent condition with several sets of original wheel covers. The wheels need new tires so I put a set of 15 inch rally wheels on to drive. Also included is a trunk FULL of extra part, a complete extra dash assembly extra very clean hood and extra drivers fender.These parts are not needed, but came with the car. Chrome and trim are in above average, original condition. All glass is there and in good condition. Top frame is in excellent condition and works, but will need seals on the rams due to age. I have not tried the power windows, the drivers front motor is out of the door, reason unknown. There are several extra window motors in the trunk so I would assume some repairs are needed. The body of the car is as close to mint condition as you are going to find for a car that has not been restored. There is no rust on the car. The floors and trunk are incredible. I had it on my lift and wouldn't even let my guys clean and paint the floor due to the incredible condition. The main body is in custom matte purple metallic right now because the original red had been sanded down. The top fabric is there but is in very bad condition. The door panels are excellent and would not need changing. The dash top has minimal cracks. The seats are poor and will need recovered. The optional Eldorado horn works perfect, the interior lights work as well as the trunk light. Somewhere in the past, the engine was changed to a higher performance 1968 472 (factory high compression engine). Engine runs VERY strong and has a new water pump. The only problems I see with the engine is a slight leak at one of the freeze plugs. It's accessible and I might have it changed before the auction end. I just dropped the transmission pan to clean and change the filter and gasket. All looked good with the trans and it works great. The muffler was rusted so I put a three chamber Flowmaster on the single exhaust, quiet but throaty. I have a clean and clear Florida title dated 1976. I have receipts totaling around $3,000 for new parts recently purchased not including labor. This car would make a great looking sled as it is or would be worthy of a complete restoration. My plans are to redo the interior, bag it and drive it. I own a very large Street Rod shop and can build this car to suit any way you would like.
