De Soto made less than 1200 of this model. This one has factory air-conditioning and they made less of them so that makes this a pretty rare car. It was last licensed in 1982 and it has been sitting in a building ever since then. I brought it home and got it running. It has a Chrysler 361 motor that runs really good. The transmission is a three speed auto-matic with the push buttons on the dash. After I got it running and drove it, the transmission shifts fine. It has original paint on the car but it has blemishes and a lot of scratches. I put it up on the hoist to put a new muffler on it and the underside of the car has been undercoated, (probably when new). The floors and the underside of the car is as solid as a rock but right in front of the rear wheels it is starting to rust through and right behind the rear wheels along the bottom of the quarter panel it's just starting to rust through. This car has the third seat. Both back seats are in real good shape.The door panels are in real good shape. But the front seat needs recovered and the carpet in the front needs to be replaced. The only mechanical problem with this car is the brakes and all they need is the front wheel cylinders replaced. All the gauges work and the radio works. The air-conditioner kicks on put probably needs freon. There is a switch for the back window on the inside of the car that rolls the tail-gait window down, but will not roll down with the outside switch.
