This was my brother's 1992 Mercedes 300D 2.5L Turbo Diesel. He bought it in June 2010 here in Nashville from a private party whom we believe were the 2nd owner. It had approximately 218,000 miles on it when he bought it. He ran into a deer on New Years Day 2014 and the car was totaled by the insurance company. We started parting the car out but lost interest and are now ready to sell it as a whole. The car still has a good motor and transmission in it which is well worth the starting price. The motor is complete including the air box and turbo even though they are not pictured. The car had a new battery installed last summer but now has lost charge since sitting up so long- it will start if charged up though. The previous owner had a new timing chain put on at around 185k according to records given with the car along with other substantial work (totaled over $3,400). Other recent parts my brother put on within the last year or so include: all 4 Bilstein shocks (last summer- less than 10k on them), new Exhaust down pipe (2 years ago roughly), replaced blower motor (car had fully functioning Air Conditiong, he put a new Fuel Thermostat on from Mercedes, a $200 part, about 1.5 years ago (this is located on/near the I.P.) and a new windshield. This is/was a RUST FREE CAR!! Parts that are no longer on the car can clearly be seen in the pictures but they include: Instrument cluster, seat switches, sunvisors, driver side mirror, floor mats, driver side knee bolster, climate control unit, radio antenna from what I can remember. Parts that are not seen in the photos but still available include: Air filter box with MAF sensor, Turbo charger, all door panels (missing ones were in the trunk when photos were taken), trunk liner panels were also removed but are still in my possession, I still have the air bag for the steering wheel and all the keys, books and records we have of the car given to us at the time my brother purchased it. All 4 windows worked great along with the sunroof. The OE radio did NOT work. The motor did drip a little oil as expected from a diesel but it ran great and turbo spooled up nice. The transmission did need topping off every so often but it shifted okay. NOW FOR THE FINE PRINT OF THIS SALE!! There is NO Warranty expressed or implied on the sale of this vehicle, it is clearly obvious the car is a parts car in the pictures. The winning bidder must submit a $200 (non-refundable) deposit via PayPal within 48 hours of auctions end. The remaining balance will be paid at time of pickup with Cash. Buyer must arrange pickup of the vehicle themselves with a shipping company or by their own personal truck/trailer. I will assist in meeting the shipper to pick/load the car up but THAT IS ALL!! Car must be picked up within 2 weeks of auction end unless other terms are agreed upon. ***Please NOTE: This car is Located in LaVergne, Tennessee zip code 37086 at my Mechanic's property- a residential address.
