For Sale is a 1951 Chevrolet 5 Window Deluxe Pick up, a former Nevada farm truck. This truck was found in a barn in Nevada, it was on the farm until the late 70's then driven by a soccer coach at the University of Nevada until the mid 80's it was then left in a barn. Dated University of Nevada parking stickers are still on the bumpers. This pick up is in amazing rust free condition, the cab corners, floors, doors and cowl are all rust free. When I got the truck it hadn't run in about 30 years, I did get it running but the head was cracked. I found another head and had it totally redone. The engine was cleaned, painted and all the gaskets were replaced, had the origional radiator re-cored, replaced the fan belt, hoses, distributer cap, rotor, points, plugs, ignition wires. The brakes were replaced, including the master cylinder, wheel cylinders, nos brake linings, turned the drums, and replaced necessary brake lines. The fuel tank was cleaned out and the sending unit was replaced. The carburator and fuel pumps were rebuilt. Starts right up, runs, drives and stops. The horn works but isn't installed because the fuel filter on the carb is in the way. It has a 4-speed transmission with a floor shifter. I had the body cleaned and sprayed with satin clear coat to preserve the trucks 63 year old patina. I did paint the running boards satin black as, at some point, someone painted them green with a brush., I had the interior repainted, cleaned the gauges, replaced the temp gauge. All gauges and speedometer work. The seat was re-upolstered with cotton, burlap and new vinyl covers, using the origional springs. The apron above the passanger running board had a small rust hole, which was patched, because dirt and leaves were left behind the wooden tool box. That was the only spot. The truck is being sold as is with a reasonable reserve. Too many vehicles not enough storage, something has to go. It's not a restored vehicle but an old vehicle that's had a lot done to it.
