This 1946 CHEVY 1/2 ton pick up truck has a great look with original paint. It has had some work in spots here and there but I do not know how much was filler as this is how I got it. In my opinion, this truck is mostly steel. I found the truck not running as it sat for many years. I got it home and I let the engine soak for months to make sure it was free before trying to start it. I replaced the plugs, points, condesor, coil, and new fuel pump. I used a 12 volt coil and put a new key igniton and key and wired direct to coil and starter. Thus the wiring for the lights and guages are bypassed and not hooked up. You can switch it back to 6 volt or leave it 12 volt. I put a new exhaust system on and redid the brakes (brakes work great) The grill is there but it has been painted in chrome. I cleaned the gas tank (runs off original tank) I clean the carb and adjusted it, the truck starts right up! the 216 engine sounds great , purrs like a kitten (see video) with no knocks misses. It does smoke a bit from the engine soaking that has to burn of with driving. Just turn on the key, pull the choke, push the floor starter and it fires right up. You can drive this and have a great time and turn lots of heads. It comes with a clean Iowa title ready for you to register. As you can see in the video, I drove this truck 45 mph with little to no play in the steering, the 4 speed shifted all gears great along with reverse and it did not overheat! I drove it a total of 6 miles doing the video. The truck will need a battery but it does come with a older 12 volt. With a new battery, you can use this truck as a driver right away. It does need some tweaking such as a door knob missing, passenger wndow needs lubing etc..I took pictures of any cosmetic flaws i could find, make sure to study the pictures and video. I do not want to overcall this truck or under call it as it is a 68 year old truck that is a true survivor, look at the pictures, watch video, and let the description tell the story. I invite and encourage you to come and look and drive the truck or have ebay do a inspection for you before placing a bid. I require a 500 non refundable deposit within 24 hours of auction end. If I do not receive the deposit within the time frame or before you come for the truck, I will assume you are a dreamer or scammer and not serious about buying it.
