Vehicle Detail
So Here's the deal: Driveline is solid. Engine runs well (could use some carb attention--occasional stumble and 'flat spot' mid throttle), transmission shifts fine. Lots of work on the hydraulics: New accumulator, several lines replaced, (braided aircraft line on brake feeders); system is functioning properly. Electrics: All windows work (RF and RR sticky and slow); seat adjusters a little noisy but work ok; AC blows cold, but needs recharging periodically (slow leak in r134 conversion dome); New heater core, but needs hoses; Circuit that controls AC and fuel gauge working now, but blinked out occasionally (we think it was a bum fuse--replaced); all lighting works fine (turn signal self-cancelling cam has gone south-makes scraping noise, and doesn't self cancel anymore). Blaupunkt ist defunct (but included is a Jensen AM-FM CD in the box-U-install). Rear tires new, fronts about 85% tread. Body: Looks great from 15 feet--All chrome and stainless trim excellent; Up close, paint shows light cracking and crazing in usual places (a-pillar joints, some corners, a little peel at front bonnet centrline); small ding in RF door top (just under window) and tiny ding in RR fender trailing edge. Rust-free except for small spot in bottom of left rocker at leading edge, and some surface oxidation on trunk floor. Interior: All wood trim excellent--No cracks or peeling. Dash and door caps lustrous and glossy (believed to be original). Carpeting excellent throughout (a little sun-bleached on transmission hump and footrests, but otherwise gorgeous--Trunk could use a shampoo (I've stored spares, tools, etc. back there).Leather generally good--Rear seat shows 'patina', but no cracks, some cracking in RFseat bottom (see photos). Door panels, dash and console all very nice. Headliner fully intact, but a little dingy; A-pillar coverings peeling and need to be redone. In short, while this is not a new Rolls-Royce ready for a cross-country trip, it is a fun old hobby/project car that is far too nice to part out that you can enjoy while you tinker.
