Vehicle Detail
Nice, Fully Loaded 1979 Cadillac Coupe Deville up for auction with NO RESERVE 114k, 425 V8. Options include split bench power seat, tilt and telescoping wheel, "Guidematic" auto headlights with auto dimming, cruise control, remote trunk release with power pulldown and the standard power windows, power steering and power brakes. I bought the Caddy from the original owner, the Caddy still has the original paperwork, brochure and owner's manual. From Wikipedia: "Because of their limited production and extravagant styling, the later 70's Coupe Devilles are increasingly sought after by collectors." Mechanical: The previous owner obsessively maintained it until he stopped driving and the Caddy sat in his garage for a couple of years before I bought it. Over the two years the Caddy got front end work, new exhaust, new alternator, shocks as well as various maintenance items. The climate control has a switch under the dash to turn the fan on, otherwise the controls for heat/defrost/ac work as normal. The a/c could use a charge of R12 if available or a retrofit to modern freon. The power steering pump needs replacing. The driver's seat needs a new switch and the power antenna needs to be put up and down by hand. The previous owner installed a modern AM/FM CD stereo with an Ipod jack. The power windows work well and the car is quiet inside when the windows are up on the highway. Cosmetics: The car got new paint in the 90's as well as a full replacement set of bumper and fender fillers. There is some minor bubbling where the vinyl meets the rear fender on the passenger side, only visible up close. The original carpet is still in good shape. The door panels, rear panels dashboard / dash display, headliner and visors are in good original condition. The leather on the driver's seat is ripped and the back seat has rips as well. The Caddy has never been hit or had any kind of body repair and the chrome shines nicely. The floors, trunk and frame are all solid. She's never been out in the winter, she's always been a "Garage Queen". I will include a new set of front and rear leather seats in saddle color I bought for the Caddy if someone hits the "buy it now"; both front buckets are power and heated, the leather is in supple and in great shape. The engine starts easily even after sitting for weeks and the garage floor is always dry when I pull the car out. The 425 V8 is nice and powerful, it moves this old girl up the highway with ease. It shifts smoothly, cruises nicely on the highway and the suspension is silky smooth over the roughest roads. The front disc brakes stop the car quickly. On the highway she'll get 13-15 MPG, pretty good for a 70's luxury cruiser. The directional/brake/turn signal/headlights/brights work properly, as well as the wipers and the the external three color fender indicators (lights, brights and turn signal). Drives overall like an American classic luxury cruiser should. See pix, I have accumulated way too many classics and my house is beginning to look like a car show. I'm selling a couple of additional cars including my 1984 Eldorado convertible. It's a very solid car, never hit or had any body repair, quarters, floors and underside perfect, very nice interior, Rolls Royce grill. The convertible top is torn around back window but inside roof lining is perfect, even has the working side dome lights mounted to the roof liner. The interior is good, leather very nice, has sun crack in center of dash. The paint is faded and the fillers need to be replaced. 83k, clean carfax, belonged to a old GM mechanic who rebuilt the engine and did some modifications when rebuilding (less than 10k on engine), it's easily the most powerful 4.1 Caddy I've ever had. Brakes need to be bled. A/C has been updated to modern freon and it has a modern GM stereo that fit in the stock opening with CD changer controls. Third is a 1978 Lincoln Continental Mark V Diamond Jubilee edition, very solid, well running car that needs cosmetics. 76k, 460 V8, all windows including power vent and moonroof work, no leaks from moonroof. Never hit or had any body repair, the paint and bumpers are dull and the power steering leaks and the tires are old and need replacing. The vinyl top was replaced but has a seam beginning to open. The interior is in excellent condition. If someone were to two or all three I'd make a package deal, I can't store them at my house much longer. I will consider all reasonable offers. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the Caddy is for sale locally and I'm open to reasonable buy it now offers as well. I can assist with shipping in the USA or internationally if necessary, cost of shipping to paid by buyer. I can recommend a door to door auto shipper I've used in the past; they're professional, reliable and have great rates. Any questions feel free to email or call 914-224-3230
