I purchased this BMW R25/3 about 20 years ago, drove it around to local club meets for a couple of years, then put it in heated storage. Iit has been sitting in my den for the past 15 years as a piece of art. I think of it as a beautiful artwork sculpture. More importantly, it always ran fine before I stored it. I have kept oil in the cylinders and crankcase to protect it. So it will need an oil change before starting it. The story I heard from the person who sold it to me is that it came over from Germany with a returning serviceman in the 1950’s; but I cannot verify that. Has the cool 'Elephant Ear' front fender; Pagusa solo seat with Schorsch Meier passenger pillion seat; center stand. The Speedo is in kilometers and works. It shows 97,000 kilometers which is equal to 60,700 miles. It has a few very minor scratches on it, one dime size ding on the chrome headlight rim, no other dents. All lights worked when stored and it has been in heated storage [my den], so they should all be fine. The left rear seam of the seat has about 2 inches of sewing which is loose, see picture, should be restictched. No other problems I am aware of except what might be associated with a few minor scratch marks received over the years. Tires have tread and hold air, but due to their age they should be replaced before driving it much. Brakes work fine. Only thing I did to it was coat the interior of the gas tank with POR15 to protect it from rusting. Needs a battery and fresh oil and should start up easily. Bike is located is Seattle Washington. Have a clear WA title in my name. Licensed as classic so no renewal license fee. Buyer to arrange and pay for pick-up and shipping. My reserve is $4,800.
