Another BS buy it now...thanks assmonkey. So, it is relisted again. Pontiac Chieftain 1953 Chop top project This old Chieftain runs and drives, but still needs some work. The engine starts up with a shot of starting fluid, then stays running pretty good. The brakes suck but do actually work. The biggest problem is the transmission front seal. It pukes all the oil out and I don't mean a drip...it drains out pretty quick. It's enough to get it going to drive it in a trailer when you fill it.Now that were past the bad stuff, let's focus on the sorta bad stuff. It's got some rust, sure, but not snowy northern rust. The body is solid as hell, with some floor patches needed as evidenced by the sections already cut out. The outer shell or body is solid. Dinged, dented, and a rough welding job on the door tops. This is how it came in, someone else's work. There is no glass with the car. Since most of it is flat, they'll cut it anywhere. There is a box, of parts...and it contains chrome bits, trim, mirrors, parts stripped off the interior, nuts and bolts. I'm sure you may have questions about missing parts, do know all loose chrome and trim will be placed inside for transport. No guarantee every little piece is still there. Since this was a custom project, you'll need to think of it as a blank canvass. So it has cool tires and someone did good with chopping the roof part, but the door tops need work. The welding job is incomplete, so expect to clean things up. Inside, the car features unfitted leather from a late model 200? Lincoln. Not a bad fit! The car should be considered an inoperable vehicle at this time. If you come by and want to drive it, we have to fill the transmission fluid, get a vise grip to hold the shifter on the gearbox, as the column linkage is not connected. It drove on the trailer for us, but we will not get it running for a transporter as they require it to literally run and brake. We will assist loading. Fair enough? The body...what is that sexy finish? It's bare metal sprayed with Ospho....again and again. That naval jelly effect is just due to rain and sun and will clean up pretty quick as there is clean metal under that skim layer of funk. See, the hard work of stripping the paint has been done, too. Now, if you have a vision for this car...finish it. It needs and deserves to be finished. Probably the only cool looking 4 door body style as far as hot rods go. I can store it for 15 days from auction end time. We can also assist with worldwide shipping.877-356-8827 ext 1 It will come with a bill of sale, as Pre 1985 cars don't require title in Georgia. Also a current tag and registration. It is legal to drive today if you can make it roadworthy. If you need a title for peace and comfort in your mind, a service is available for $350. So...bid to win!
