I have decided to sell my 81 XL500S dual sport dirt bike. I have owned this bike for about 5 years, most of which it was sitting apart in my garage. Finally got motivated last year to rebuild it and get it back on the road! I have a clear OH title with this bike! Lots of new parts including Wiseco piston, cylinder bored, new battery, chain and sprockets, rear tire, etc. I replaced the head and cam with one from a lower mileage bike. Bike runs great, all electronics and gauges work, brakes and controls all work. Just under 5100 miles, only 160 since rebuild. Plastic is in good condition, tank is spotless inside (see pic). Small tear in the seat cover. Could use a new front tire soon and some stickers to make it look brand new - or just go ride it as is! Pulls strong and cruises highway speeds effortlessly. Only reason I'm selling it is because I bought a dual sported WR400F. I also have a 1981 XR250R parts bike available for sale.
