Vehicle Detail

Up for bid is a freshly restored 1955 Ford two door Ranch Wagon. The car has a 272 V-8 with 3 speed non-overdrive manual transmission. It is mostly original with added Fairlane stainless trim. The interior carpet and upholstery are new, as well as the paint. Other new parts include fuel pump, water pump, fuel tank, master cylinder, and brake lines. The car seems to run and drive well including the steering and braking system. There is no power steering or power brakes. The frame and undercarriage appear to be solid. The rear floor pans are new, but the front pans have some small patched areas. The overall body condition is good with some lower door and quarter repair. All glass is in good condition. This has been an amateur restoration that has some minor flaws throughout. Most of the chrome is in fair shape but could use refinishing. The car will need inner rocker panels and a new front support between the frame rails. The radio is complete, however it is missing the power cable, therefore it has not been tested. The car is located in Greenwood, Indiana. You are welcome to schedule a time to see it prior to bidding. Because I have the car for sale locally, I reserve the right to end the auction early. I've had some questions regarding the cross member. The cross member in question is located under the radiator between the frame rails. It is not drive train related. It anchors the front of the lower "A" frame (steering). I have tacked in 2" angle iron along the back side to add support. I have added two pictures to help depict cross member. You can see the front of the support looking toward the orange oil pan and the back side with the angle iron in place just behind the front bumper. The car drives well but will need to have this support replaced at some time. Here is a link to the cross member that needs replaced: http://www.ebay.com/itm/GOODELL-FABRICATIONS-FRONT-CROSSMEMBER-for-1954-1955-1956-FORD-MERCURY-/151341270372?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A1955|Make%3AFord&hash=item233ca48564&vxp=mtr The VIN is: U5MR 136619 The mileage is 106035
