This is my 1981 Pontiac trans am, I got the car back in 1994 and it needed some work, the body was not to bad. There was rust around the t-top roof also the trunk lid and a little in the bottom of the doors and fenders. The interior was removed and front / rear glass only panel replaced was the trunk lid, the underbody floor pans and quarters are nice, the car still has the original steel brake lines. I put a engine and transmission that I got from a friend that had around 30K on it after rebuild then painted in 2010 single stage enamel with paint code just like the original paint, new windshield, painted the dash and interior panels with new headliner and carpet, the seats got 1980 covers put on them, also hard to find new weather striping. The car runs good and drives great, the 305 Chevy engine has a mild cam around 230 HP / Carburetor jetted / Headers with 3 inch exhaust, Thrush mufflers / Zoom racing clutch / Muncie M21 close ratio 4 speed transmission / strong posse original rear disc differential 342 ratio. Everything works except the back up lights and the right turn signal flashes the headlights when applied. Paint has held up good, kept the car in garage ever sense I got it and it is still inside. The trans might need going over again, it works fine but some times makes a noise, p/s pump leaks, the tires are dry rotted and the battery is weak, the a/c compressor is off the car. I am selling because i put less than 1000 miles on this car in 4 years and need the garage space for other projects. This is a nice solid car that needs a little work or drive it like it is only made 2680 4 speed cars in 1981
