1973 Honda CL

1973 Honda CL350K5 and 1971 Honda CB350K3 I have had the CL since last year. The person I purchased it from had been using it as a daily driver for a few months. This was the last year of production for the CL350 and it had a few changes from previous years such as the rear grab rail around the back of the seat and the instruments being mounted differently and having more indicator lights in them. The bike has a clean and clear Michigan title. VIN is CL350-5012842. Mechanically, the bike is sound. It starts up and runs fine. It shifts through all the gears and the clutch works as it should. It could probably use a basic tune up - oil change, plugs, valve adjustment, etc. I did adjust the cam chain but it still has some valve train noise caused by excessive valve lash. The tank is very clean inside and since this bike had been ridden on a regular basis, there are none of the dirty fuel system issues so common with these older motorcycles. I have not noticed and fluid leaks while the bike was sitting in my garage. It does need some bulbs in some of the lights and I noticed the handlebar kill switch does not work but the key switch works fine. Front tire is good but the rear is worn out and will need to be replaced. The mufflers are very solid and not rusted out in any spots. Cosmetically the bike is pretty clean for its age but not spotless by any means. There is surface rust on many of the chrome pieces including the rims and head pipes. The tank is pretty nice - some fading on the top and one small ding in the left side. Side covers are a little faded but don't have any cracks and the tabs are intact. The seat cover is original with no rips. The gauges are faded and the speedo shows a little road rash. Grips and levers are good. Original gray cable are a little discolored. The pictures should tell it all but please ask any specific questions and I am happy to take additional pics of any specific area. Overall, this would make a nice daily driver or a very good start to a restoration project of a classic, last model year bike. I picked up the CB350 just last week and wasn't sure what to do with it but since I have more projects than time, I decided to offer it as a bonus parts bike along with the CL. VIN is CB350-3046238 and the odometer shows 10,000 miles. The story I got on this one was the engine was recently gone through with new rings and gaskets and the carbs were rebuilt. I can not verify that but I did get a box with old gaskets and carb parts in it and the engine and carbs look extremely clean. The motor has very good compression but no spark. The points cover was off when I got it so I am assuming the lack of spark is nothing but a points issue. Unfortunately, the tank is rusty inside but should clean up pretty easy. The front tire is shot and does not hold air. Cosmetically, the bike is pretty solid. The paint is original. The top of the tank is faded and has some surface rust. The side covers are cracked. The turn signals are missing. The headlight rim and bucket are damaged. All that aside, most of this bike is really clean. The chrome is good - especially the rims. This would make a great restoration project or the perfect donor bike. I am offering these bikes with no reserve. Local pick up is preferred but if you arrange shipping I will help any way I can. I travel around Michigan for work and could possibly deliver for gas money. I will also be heading to Ohio in a few weeks and could possibly set up delivery there as well.
