1965 AMC Rambler 770 Classic Convertible with Tri Poised Power In 1965 the AMC plant in Kenosha, WI only produced 4,953 convertibles, some of these being produced in 1965 as the 1966 Rebel convertible. So it is unclear how many were actually made as a 1965 Classic 770 V8 287. Vin: Z301049 Denotes this car came with a 287 V8 Motor and that it was the 1049th convertible with a 287 built that year. Trim Tag on door denotes the following: Body: R014137 -number assigned to the body as they were produced (they were not consecutive) Model- 6517-5 - 1965 Convertible Trim-578V 5=1965 7=770 8=upholstery color V=vinyl Paint-3A - Antigua Red W073534- sequential production plant number assigned to the car This rare car runs and drives, it does not engage in park (might just need an adjustment) Power top works, however it needs a new cover it is ripped in the back. As far as I can tell the original rims are on the car. Dash is in good condition. Rare Original Tri Poised Power Air Cleaner comes with the car. However, it does not fit on the carburetor that is currently on the car. Carburetor says Ford Motor Craft on it. Motor appears to be the original 8 cylinder. (please view pictures) Car is solid. Trunk area very solid. Chrome is in good shape (bumpers, molding and trims etc.) Vin and body tags are in tact and correct. Side mirror with logo is in good shape. The car has lots of other emblems and badges that are in excellent condition. This car is being sold AS IS due to its age. The car currently runs and drives, however I am not guaranteeing that it will continue to do so. Due to the age of the car I would not plan on driving it home.
