Vehicle Detail
This 1994 GMC Sonoma starts easily, runs great and stops quickly. It has a stump-pulling 4.3 litre V6 engine (yes, we have used it to pull stumps) and the benefit of selectable four-wheel drive. Extras include a towing hitch with lighting harness and an UnderCover ABS composite bed cover. The front tires have about 1/4" tread remaining, and the rear tires have about 3/8" of tread remaining. As far as running condition, engine and transmission, there are no known issues. It has been a reliable and extremely useful truck for the 10 years that we've owned it. Unfortunately this vehicle is suffering from a lot of rust and a list of niggling issues, and the exterior cosmetic condition is poor. Last year we had the front brakes overhauled, which led to a mismatch in the ABS sensor voltages between front and rear (new wires vs old). As a result, even though the ABS system still works, the ABS and Brake lights remain lit. At its last New York State inspection, which it passed in June, we were told the front suspension arms are rusting out. Other known issues include:front tires crackingrear bumper loose on driver's siderust holes in passenger side rear wheel archspring missing from driver's door hingeA/C no longer workspassenger side power window no longer worksrear sliding window catch missing (window can be opened and closed but not locked)stereo display no longer lights up (radio and CD player still work)one rear stereo speaker sometimes cuts outMostly this vehicle suffers from lack of use, to the point where it doesn't make sense for us to keep it any more. We've averaged about 2,500 miles a year in it, but much less in the last few years. It might best serve someone who can make good use of it while running it into the ground, or as a project or donor vehicle.
