A true barn find well optioned baby bird(1955), the first year for the Thunderbird, this car has been in dry storage and off the road since 1974, it has never been restored, but has been repainted sometime in the early 70's. Complete with the only exception being the original carburetor and air cleaner missing (a Holley carb now). The engine runs and sounds strong; using a gas "IV bag" style feed to the carb, but the carb needs a rebuild to keep it running for longer than a minute, please watch the video! Years ago, someone had changed to a Mallory distributor (original included). The brakes are down on it from years of sitting. The body is very straight and solid with some softness in the floors and a small area of the trunk. Trunk extensions, quarter panels, inner rockers and body mounts look good! The worst area of the floorpan is surrounding the accelerator pedal. This cool looking bird could either have some mechanical cleanup work and minor floor repair to be driven as a "rat rod fun car" or a great candidate for a restoration. The interior is complete but apart, door panels are off the doors, but this allowed me to show how solid the doors are and the interior panels have been redone years ago, still looking really good. The body is very straight with the exception of some old bondo work surrounding the drivers side headlight. This bird is loaded with power steering, power brakes, power windows and power seat, all motors are present. The hardtop has a very nicely applied vinyl covering in white. It really looks good!
