A rarely seen Lotus Eclat 5 speed, in mint condition, lovingly maintained, a wonderful driving car. We will post many more pictures of the inside and outside of the car tomorrow, July 4th. Very smooth, this early series 1 Eclat has the 2 liter engine, which from the factory puts out the same 160 hp as the later 2.2 cars, due to their emissions. An interesting bit of motoring trivia is that the price of the Eclat was 50% higher than that of the same year Porsche 911 ! In other words, these cars were prized, ahead of their time in many respects and certainly a bargain for the vintage exotic car technology and ownership pleasure they bring, delivering close to 30mpg. Please note that this early Eclat is just out of long term storage, and has been gone through with new timing belt, tune up and oil change, but the new owner must invest in a new set of tires, and a radio. The pictures will speak for themselves it should be said that this car is believed to be a low mileage survivor, with some recent refreshing, The seats have been dyed and do appear to be original as is the carpet. This beautiful piece of motoring history is available for any inspection at our showroom in Beautiful Sunny Cost Mesa California or at ANY REPUTABLE service garage of your choice within a reasonable radius of our showroom. We at Performance Vintage International are licensed California Classic and exotic car dealers, and only for California buyers will charge sales tax and state mandated transfer and documentation fees (registration fees are paid to the state, plus a $65 documentation fee with sales tax based new owner’s county rate). We do not charge out of state buyers for these fees and they will be responsible for their own fees and need to pay their own state fees and taxes themselves as appropriate and we will only charge a $75 documentation fee.
