Our photos were shot at our showroom and on a little country road right next to it. The Highlander package is very unique and seldom seen. This was offered during 1972 for a short time on Chevrolet's 1/2, 3/4 and 1-ton models. The Highlander's main feature was this special Gray Scottish plaid insert seating. The seat covers were the Cheyenne Super's vinyl, but instead of the Houndstooth insert, you got the plaid cloth, available in one of four colors. This truck was ordered with the gray Highlander inserts. The Highlander was largely un-distinguished from the exterior. There were a few trim changes, still wearing the Custom Deluxe badging. The 3/4 ton and 1-ton Highlander's ran these hubcaps over color-keyed wheels. This truck also wears what is believed to be most of its original paint. There is buffer burn through on the hood .The body is exceptionally straight and solid. This truck was VERY well cared for its entire life and this is reflected in its condition. The paint colors are called Ochre (511 code) and White (521) for an attractive two-tone or even three-tone paint configuration. The cab and center colors are white, while the truck is largely Ochre in color. This was a popular color combination. The only way to really confirm a Highlander is to have original literature pertaining to your truck and or this, the original option identification decal on the glovebox. This truck is showing 39,505 miles and is believed to be original. The truck certainly displays and performs according to the mileage. This truck has obviously been kept in dry climate conditions its entire life. The upholstery and door panels are in great shape, as is the cab in general. The engine compartment houses its factory 350 cubic inch 4bbl. V8 with the factory optioned power steering and power brakes. You can clearly see original chalk markings throughout the firewall. The inner fenderwells, core support, and firewall sheet metal is in excellent condition. The engine itself runs out strong and the transmission shifts as it should. This is a great driving truck. The heater core was just replaced along with the coolant hoses. The bed tells the story of this truck. The inner fenders, tailgate, and bed itself are factory solid, with most of the original paint intact. There is a heavy-duty rubber mat to protect it. Check out that factory marking on the frame, shown above, WOW. This truck is in excellent shape underneath, always kept in dry climate conditions. The exhaust system was recently replaced from the manifolds-back. The door undersides are solid, original sheetmetal with the drain holes intact. The undercarriage displays excellent original sheetmetal. The floorboards, rocker panels, and cab corners are solid as is the bed underside and frame. This truck is also optioned with power front disc brakes. This truck features a factory sliding rear window.The side glass is original Soft-Ray tinted. The windshield has been replaced at some time.
