This auction is for a ready to ride, VINTAGE 1968 BMW R50/2 twin cylinder motorcycle, matching # 1815761 - on frame, engine. It is in old restoration. Excellent black lacquer and hand pinstripe on tank & fenders. It starts with one kick, run strong, no smoke, no piston slap, very quite.. all evidence of a fully restored bike. And it stop good. the engine is clean with good compression 120 psi .if you have any question or you have buy it now offer, and you are welcome to come over to inspect the R50/2. It is a older restoration job. Normal storage wear, Jet mechanic owner owned since 1980 and he restored the bike back in 1980’s and put a fake R50S badge on the fender. The R50/2 was putted in to storage and only put less than 930 miles over the years. The bike was parked in a house since 1980s. Me and my mechanic friend cleaned R50/2 up and changed all fluids, new set of German made HIDENU tires. Cleaned the carburetors,. There is no leaks, We adjusted the timing , valve, and be good show bike base or just and ride and enjoy. We rode about 74 miles on this bike, no smoke, no piston slap and quite as a slash 2 suppose be. Headlight, brake, license light all function as expected, switch cut off works perfectly alloy High ridge Wieman rims and steel spokes. Come with 2 owner manual, tire pump and tool kits, I will provide the winner a new 6Volt battery, BMW R50/2 is backbone BMW design their bikes. It is most reliable and has the smoothest engine and revs well( no reported cylinder failure (R60) & vibration issue(R69S, R69) . A nice bike and will cruise hundred miles all day long.
