Vehicle Detail
For sale, 75 F250 High Boy 4x4 right off the ranch. I recently acquired this truck from the 3rd owner, the 2nd older rancher before him owned it for many years. Sold new right here in the Montana high desert, land of the sagebrush and prickly pear cactus. Truck is tight and solid - was in use as a wood hauler and hunting vehicle for many years right up to current time and prior to that it was a ranch truck. It's well maintained and mechanically ready to use as is or restore this desirable dry western truck in the best color (red) with factory A/C. Drives and feels like a lower mileage truck, there are oil change stickers that indicate under 100k, odometer shows 69k but the previous owner told me it was non-op for about a year so it will be sold as mileage "other". Exterior: Original paint is faded and unless you're into patina, acceptable for a driver only. Needs complete repaint if you want it nice. Truck has lots of dents but NO RUST, other than minor surface rust you see in pics. No rot underneath, and I know where to look. Will post link to full underside pics shortly. Cab mounts, cab corners, cab drop-offs, floors, all dry and beautiful. We don't just don't see major rust or rot issues in this arid country- there's just no moisture. We only get 10 inches of total precipitation annually, and no salt is used on the roads. The truck is pretty straight except for dent in cab under rear window, dent high in passenger door and a lot of dents in the box sides. Passenger front fender has been replaced. Inside box is in good condition. Cab and door dents easily fixable, but there are enough dents in box sides to look at possibly replacing box or sides. Glass is good except for windshield, which needs replacement. Side chrome trim and grille surround good with no pitting, just a few scratches. Tailgate chrome and rear window chrome are dented and need to be replaced. Bumpers are decent but not mint. Interior: Original and presentable for a driver or working truck. Seat has a few tears on driver side underneath cover, but isn't worn out or broken down . Carpet is original and faded but not torn up. Door panels not broken but have had holes drilled and small screws added. Original dashpad mint, no damage. Headliner is fine. Just about everything seems to work including gauges, heater, and aftermarket radio. Ready to use as is, and restore later if you want it nice. Original jack, handle and lug wrench all present. Mechanical: Starts, runs, drives out well. No major issues - 360 engine runs smooth and pulls hard and C6 trans shifts well. Truck is super tight with no squeaks or rattles. Oil pressure is good, no noticeable smoke or noise or leaks. 4x4 works fine. Originally full time 4wd but converted to true part time hubs and transfer case and done right. The fellow I bought the truck from was using it as an occasional work commuter and to fetch wood and run to the dump. He spent a good amount of money on recent Flowmaster exhaust and 4wd conversion, having the shift collar on the column replaced, and adding a stout Class 5 receiver hitch. Good working truck, not a pampered cream puff by any means, but I've put a couple hundred miles on and from what I can tell it's ready to use and enjoy with some new tires. 33x12.50x16.5 tires are shot and need to be replaced. Wheels are in good condition with no major pitting. I didn't drive it over 60mph due to the tires. I took the truck to a professional mechanic and he gave it a clean bill of health except for worn valve guides. The truck will need a valve job in the near future. A/C is all there and blows but not cold enough so plan on recharge. Compressor has been recently replaced already. Overall good strong tight truck! Pricing/Misc: I got a good deal on this rig and you will too. This era F250 is very hard to find, especially rust free with factory A/C and in the best factory color of that year (red), These trucks book a ton, but the very reasonable reserve is well under $3k for quick sale. Transport is readily available and probably cheaper than fixing rust on a Midwest or East Coast truck. Title is clear and signed off by previous owner and ready for you to fill your name in as purchaser. GOOD LUCK! Keep in mind that with all cars and trucks, THEY LOOK BETTER IN PICTURES THAN IN PERSON. Don't bid expecting a minty creampuff, this truck is a great candidate for restoration, but not perfect by any means. It runs fine but it wouldn't be practical to expect to fly out and drive it long distance.
